GJNC 18 American: Maverick 18 Elite Earns Bronze Medal

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There isn't much better satisfaction at the culmination of a club season, let alone a club career, then to walk away having earned a podium finish at the national championships. The top 18U squad from Maverick did just that. With a 7-2 overall record, this group played great volleyball all weekend to earn a bronze medal. Here are some of their top contributors.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='239167' first='Kate' last='Trzcinski']<br>Trzcinski has been an offensive leader for this team for multiple club seasons. The Walsh Jesuit product earned nearly 500 career kills while boasting a career average of 8.3 digs per match earning all conference and all district honors her senior year. The University of Buffalo commit has handled the role and volume as a primary attacker well as she can terminate through every area of the offense including at both pins and out of the back row and with good movement, power, and finesse. Other strengths include what she provides in the serve receive and defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='196509' first='Ava' last='Kanj']<br>Kanj is another University of Buffalo commit and raised her stock well from last club season to this through her best high school season this past fall. With increased production in the middle offensively, she finished her high school career with a 2.1 blocks per match average with 180 stuffs for her career at Solon. At 6'3, she has good length for the next level and with her improved skills as an attacker she has promise to be an impact middle as she transitions to and learns the college game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='261352' first='Reilly' last='Parent']<br>Parent had a big senior senior for NDCL with a career best 218 total kills and 3.5 k/s average to lead the Lions. She has a fundamentally sound arm on the left side that allows her to control well the shots she makes in reaction to the defense. Her impact is also positive in the defensive phase as she added nearly 10 digs per match in the fall of 2023. Parent is moving on to compete for Edinboro University at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='435239' first='Fiona' last='Cooper']<br>Cooper was a key aspect for the Revere program during her high school career, which translated very well to the effort and impact she brought to this Maverick team. She has a high volleyball I.Q. as a floor general and brings a presence that is competitive and assertive yet simple and calming in her ability to lead a balanced offense. Her tools as a setter have college-ready traits as she gets herself prepped to join the program at Wright State next fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='196508' first='Jessica' last='Neiman']<br>The 6'0 opposite has been a big threat for this team at the opposite position as she is one of the best in this class in Ohio. The Padua Franciscan product has good length and contact point. She fulfilled a role in 2023 as the primary offensive option for the Bruins as she took a healthy share of the team's swings. With 277 total kills she averaged a team high 3.3 k/s and finished her high school career with a massive 25 total kills in her final match. The Indiana University of PA commit brings a different dimension to the floor for this group as a lefty and has good arm control and range upon contact.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
