This season has been a journey of growth for me. As a team, we’ve faced challenges and setbacks, but each one has brought us closer together and made us stronger. Competing against skilled opponents and the want to better myself drives me, but the camaraderie and shared passion for the sport also play significant roles. I thrive in running an offense while setting up plays to put the ball away. The opportunity to showcase my strengths and possibly catch the eye of scouts is undoubtedly exciting makes me look forward to the Salt Lake City Showdown! Provided to Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig

Hi, my name is Abby Kolder Abby Kolder 6’4″ | RS Oaks Christian | 2026 CA and I’m currently playing for Lava West and am attending Oaks Christian. With attending such an academically challenging school and playing at such a high level of volleyball, I feel as though these experiences are what is really preparing me for the next level of volleyball.
With Salt Lake City coming up this weekend I am really excited to showcase who our team is and what we bring to the table. We are a force to be reckoned with. The best part about our team is the bond we all share. We have nothing but love for each other. I have recently been playing a lot of beach and it has really improved my hitting as well as my speed. With the recent move to opposite I have been working really hard on my footwork. One of the things I bring to the table is my blocks with my height and this weekend I can’t wait for everyone to see that. I have a lot to prove this weekend so let’s go get that gold! My volleyball season at A4 is going really well for my team and I. This is my first season at A4. Coming to a brand new club with a new team& new coach could be pretty overwhelming, but I’ve been blessed with an amazing coach, Cassie Strickland and fun and supportive teammates. The goals I’m chasing for myself this season are-improving my skills all around the court from serve receive, defense, blocking and killing the ball with a quick consistent swing and solid approach. Also, showing up as a leader on my team.
I’m really excited for Salt Lake with my team this week. I’m pumped because we can really take all we’ve been working on to secure our bid in open! My team and I are going in with a mindset with winning the whole tournament im so excited. Also, all the good competition that we will be competing against in Salt Lake City has me excited and seeing my volleyball friends on other teams. My standout skills are my being able to read the court, defense and hitting. Also, when I’m able to get my short serve in the right spot it’s lethal for the other teams.
