Christopher has been a solid hitter in the 12th Region for the Rebels these past two seasons for big reasons. Christopher has great form on her spike attempts. She can hit the ball all over the court even from the back row. She is not afraid to push balls to lines to throw off defenses. Christopher is especially lethal on overpassed balls. Christopher is also a good passer and is using the club season to improve her all-around play. Christopher led Boyle County with 440 kills, 56 aces and 319 digs to go with 15 assisted blocks, five solo blocks and 46 aces. Christopher helped the Rebels to a 25-14 record, consecutive 45th District championships and consecutive 12th Region semifinal appearances.
Hans mainly played outside at Simon Kenton, but has done well switching to mainly a middle blocker role for club. Hans has a nice quick hit to the lines and can angle hits off blockers. Hans also has a great slide hit from the pins to the back row. She can send a nice jump serve to the back line and makes opponents go over and around her at the net helping out her defensive specialists. Hans is using the club season to improve her overall play. Hans had 292 kills, 29 assisted blocks, 14 solo blocks, 141 digs and 44 aces last year helping Simon Kenton to a 30-8 record, a sixth straight 32nd District championship and a second appearance in the 8th Region championship in the last three years.
Warrell gave Central Hardin hitting depth last year and looks to build on those numbers this fall trying to become a better all-around player during club season, specifically working on her ball control and communication with teammates. Warrell plays all six spots on the court and has a great spike from the pins. Warrell can throw hitters off taking things off for shorter shots and tips. She does a great job adjusting her hands while the ball is in the air. Warrell also has an excellent jump serve. Warrell had 101 kills, 49 assisted blocks, five solo blocks, 138 digs and 72 aces helping the Bruins to a 36-5 record with a fourth straight 17th District championship and a 5th Region crown.
Scharlow brings New Albany a lot of versatility. She has outstanding line hits and angles balls well off and through blocks. Scharlow is not afraid to soften up things to direct balls to different parts of the court. Scharlow is not afraid to get down on her knees to go after balls, making fundamentally sound passes, especially on tips. Scharlow has good line drives on her passes and cheers on her teammates after her team scores points.
Highlights
Blain has risen up to be a main weapon for Ballard these last two falls. Blain consistently finds ways around blocks, putting balls in open parts of the court. She’s also improving at the net with excellent timing on her blocks. She hustles after balls defensively and is good at digging up blocked balls. Blain had 236 kills, 19 assisted blocks, four solo blocks and 95 digs leading the Bruins to a 26-10 record and a spot in the rugged 7th Region Tournament for the second straight season.
