Mine in particular leaves first thing in the morning, meaning we still have a little time to talk about what we HAVE to have to earn (or upgrade) our bids for Vegas. Here are some outsides that are essential for getting that bid to GJNCs this summer.
16 Open
Three options to choose from in 16 Open highlight the Indiana contingency. Josie Imes Josie Imes 5'10" | OH Zionsville | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-10 OH, Zionsville, Circle City 16 Purple) is probably the most complete player of these three, having the capability of terminating from everywhere as a primary passer. She’s a solid six-rotation recruit, with aspirations of making it big. Lydia Stahley Lydia Stahley 6'1" | RS Roncalli | 2026 State IN (’26, 6-1 OH, Roncalli, Team Indiana Elite 16.1) is a long and lean terminator from either pin that has next-level written all over her. Her springy and fast nature complements her volleyball acuity quite nicely, not to mention her athleticism to crush it during outdoor track season (high jump specialist). Finally, Rose Mahin Rose Mahin 5'9" | OH Franklin Community | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-10 OH, Franklin Community, Rev 16-1) can play either pin with ease. Her heavy arm hits the hardest ball of this bunch, and makes up for her narrow frame by punishing undisciplined blocks regularly.
16 USA
On Circle City’s 16 Black squad, Lilly Abney Lilly Abney 5'9" | OH Zionsville | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-10 OH, Zionsville) is the go-to attacker that is required at the next level. She has an innate ability to get up and pound with quickness, or seemingly hang in the air and wait for the block to break down before she terminates. I like her all-around game, but her offense is what draws attention the most.
16 Liberty
Adriana Williams Adriana Williams 5'10" | OH Indian Creek | 2026 State IN (’26, 5-10 OH, Indian Creek) is a big and physical outside for Rev’s 16-2 squad. Coming from a “basketball” school, it’s nice to see Miss Williams use a volleyball foundation in her fundamentals. Hitting a heavy ball from the left, she probably projects to a three-rotation attacker at the NAIA level or even in Division II. Either way, she hits high, jumps high and has a high upside to her game.
