Show Me Qualifier 17 USA Standout Hitters

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Show Me Qualifier 17 USA division was littered with Florida teams competing for a bid to Nationals. The prospects that I am going to highlight are all on the pin position including the outside and right side hitter. Each of these players were able to show their skills and attributes along with helping their teams to solid finishes in the tournament. The hitters were able to show their ability to dominate on offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Audryana Colon (OH) - 850 Elite 17 Blue</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Audryana is one of the heaviest hitters in the state. She has the size and strength to hit through blocks as if they weren't even there. The athleticism profile with her size and strength is impressive. Her best offensive tool is her power, but she has the skills to control the ball on an off speed shot as well. She's a dominant force at the net and is a go to hitter for her team. When you switch to the defensive side, she's fantastic at reading opposing offenses both on the net and in the backrow. Her lateral quickness and IQ gives her the opportunity to be in the right position defensively. Audryana is a 6 rotation outside who could easily start for a college program today. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Karis Sullivan (RS) - Jupiter Elite 17E</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Karis like Audryana has the size, strength, and length to be one of the biggest hitters in the class. Her size in combination with her fast arm is why she's almost impossible to stop on offense. She has an absolute whip of an arm that she uses to hit the ball with immense range. She's athletic enough to see the block in front of her and make her hitting decision in the air. This gives her the best chance to hit the ball to the right place at the right time. Her blocking is just as impressive. She's able to block both in the middle and on the right depending on the opposing teams hitting options. Karis is a fantastic lefty who utilizes the attributes and skills she has to put her team in positions to score consistently.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='526030' first='Jenna' last='Walters'] (RS) - Cape Coast 17 Falcon</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jenna is an offensive threat on both pins. She keeps her spacing and timing on both pins for the ball to stay in front of her hitting shoulder. When you're able to execute fast and power swings on both pins at the level Jenna is able to it shows the translatability to the college game. The other skill that really stood out to me was her blocking. She's quick and has the vertical leap to press over the net quickly and on time. The three most important aspects to blocking is positioning, timing, and the ability to press over the net back into the court and Jenna shows the ability to do those consistently. Jenna is a dominant player for her team no matter what's asked of her. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sienna Wnetrzak (RS) - 850 Elite 17 Blue</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was able to watch Sienna play for her high school team at UF Team Camp and she is a force to be reckoned with. She's a lefty right side hitter who has the speed and power to dominate at the net offensively. Her arm swing pops out to you in person and on film because of how fast she's able to get on the ball. She does a great job opening her shoulders and hips to the ball and driving her body through the ball as well. When you combine her dynamic arm with the overall strength she has at the position she's hard to stop. Sienna makes hitting the way she does look way too easy because of how athletic and balanced she is. Offensively Sienna is my favorite right side I was able to watch this past weekend. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mary Massias (OH) - GJ 17 Erin</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At UF Camp I had the privilege of coaching Mary about 4 or 5 years ago. She was this tall and lanky athlete with not a ton of experience. You look at Mary play now she is one of the more dominant outsides in the class of 2025. Her growth as a player has put her in the position to be a dominant offensive force for her team. Even back when I was coaching her you could see the potential being through the roof. Mary has learned a diverse hitting toolset to attack the opponents defense. She's been able to expand her skill set to be a reliable option as a passer and defender as well. Knowing her potential and the work she has already put in it's no surprise to me about the level of player she has turned out to be. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There is so much talent in the state of Florida at the pin hitter position especially in the class of 2025. Each of these prospects has their own game and uses their own skill set to give their teams the best opportunity to score. The way they dominate the game offensively is different. As a college coach you see how it's not just the player with the most talent but it's the player with the best talent for the way that program wants to play. The depth at both the outside and opposite positions give college coaches the ability to recruit the players that are best for their program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
