Continue ReadingWe were super excited to partner up with USA Volleyball and run the Salt Lake City Showdown Showcase in conjunction with the National Qualifier in Salt Lake City, UT on April 5th and April 11th. Held at the Salt Palace Convention Center and live streamed via BallerTV, this event is amazing! This article series will discuss some of the players that turned the heads of the court coaches and scouts that were in attendance. Let’s see who earned the Top Performer award from the showcase.
Addison DeGard [2025] 5-9 Libero (HS: Valencia/Club: LAVA North/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Addison is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Valencia High School and also club for the LAVA North volleyball program. Miss DeGard battled against some top competition and stood out to all of our court coaches with her performance. What I love about her game is how she reads the setter way before the setter touches the ball. Addison’s court vision and ability to make certain movements before the ball is contacted by the hitter puts her in some amazing positions to play the ball. While other liberos might be stationary and wait for the ball to be contacted, Miss DeGard will always be two steps ahead of everyone with what she does with her footwork. Very rarely will you see her heels hit the ground while moving to her defensive position. This keeps her super fast on the court. Her shoulders also stood out because of how she was able to drop the inside shoulder to create some awesome angles to play the ball. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award at the showcase.
Yasmin Berres [2026] 5-3 Libero (HS: Fort Pierce Central/Club: Rush Premier/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Yasmin is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them for her state yet. She plays volleyball for Fort Pierce Central High School and also plays club for the Rush Premier volleyball program. Miss Berres does such a great job moving on the court whether that is pursuing deflections, moving to set the second ball during out of system plays, and also covering her hitters. While playing the second ball, she is awesome at delivering perfectly hittable sets from her platform to her pins. This young lady is not afraid to get on the floor if she has to in order to keep the ball from scoring. She does a great job of using every single part of her body in order to get a touch on the ball also. Her platform was made for passing the ball as it sends very soft balls to her setter during hard driven balls. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
Izabella Duceska Izabella Duceska 5'8" Prince of Peace Christian | 2026 TX [2026] 5-8 Setter (HS: Prince of Peace/Club: Arete/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Izabella is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Prince of Peace Christian High School and plays club for the Arete volleyball program. There are setters and then there are leaders. Miss Duceska is 100% both! Everything about her play leads you to want to have her lead your offense into battle. She is no stranger to playing front row despite her height and loves to jump and block hitters taller than her. She is not afraid to run offense in a 5-1 as she also utilizes a very deceptive and lethal dump in order to score on a defense. Izabella is a fiery leader who loves to play against top competition. You can see this competitiveness when she plays defense out of the right back zone. She looks like a libero who is ready and willing to put her body through anything in order to keep the ball alive. I love her volleyball IQ and how she moves the ball around to different hitters during crucial situations. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
