I’ve been following several Nevada players throughout the season and will get the opportunity to watch many of them in action this weekend. Find out which setters to add to your watchlist.
Madison proves to be a hustler, embodying the ideal setter energy. She doesn’t not give up on balls that aren’t perfect passes, often keeping the play alive. Scott effortlessly executes setter dumps that often help score a few easy points. In addition, the freshman shows off her versatility with some right side attacking as well. This setter will be a good watch this weekend
Highlights
Michaela Butler
Michaela Butler
Michaela is great at mixing up her sets and can effectively push the ball to her pin hitters from just about anywhere on the court. Her versatility shines as she occasionally takes on the libero position, showcasing her athleticism and adaptability. Additionally, she is a very good server that has accumulated several aces this season. The sophomore is going to be a great athlete watch this weekend.
Madison Paz
Madison Paz
Madison is another versatile setter that doubles as a right side from time-to-time. Paz is very strong at back setting and getting to tough balls, while her jump serve has often resulted in aces for her team. When hitting right side, she showcases her ability to adapt and still excel. This player was recently placed on my radar, so I look forward to catching her play this weekend.
Gianna Jackson
Gianna Jackson
Gianna is a very smart setter with great setting technique. Her decision-making skills are strong and she always knows where her strongest hitters are on the court. She sets a great quick set and sets up her pins for success with good ball placement. Jackson is coming off a recent 1st place finish in the Las Vegas League Championship’s 18 & under division. She is going to be a great setter to catch in action this weekend.
