I’ve been closely following several Nevada freshmen throughout the season and will get the opportunity to watch many of them in action this weekend. Here are five standout pins in the class of 2027 that you should keep an eye on during the tournament.
Lauren Noble
Lauren Noble
Lauren demonstrates her versatility as a dynamic player, proving herself to be effective in all six rotations. Not only does she excel in attacking from the outside in the front row, but Noble also plays a crucial role in her team’s serve reception and defense. Furthermore, her strong serving skills have resulted in numerous aces during the club season. As a freshman, she has developed proficiency in various aspects of the game, earning her significant playing time on the court.
Tori Castro
Tori Castro
Tori excels as a pin, hitting aggressively on both outside and right side. Alongside her impressive hitting abilities, her superb float serve helps her score even more points with aces. Between getting kills and aces, Castro is a scorer and someone you want on the court as much as possible to help run the score up. She’s definitely one to keep an eye on this weekend.
Emagin brings explosive hitting power to her team, standing out as a top freshman pin hitter. Her knack for maneuvering around and through opponent blocks is impressive. With a strong approach and quick wrist snap, she delivers fast, impactful shots. She’s undoubtedly on the path to becoming one of the state’s top hitters.

I’Yanna Riley
I’Yanna Riley
I’yanna spends a lot of time on the court, playing all six rotations in most games. She excels in hitting, serve reception, and back-row defense. Her impressive vertical leap is an added bonus when attacking on front row as well as her disciplined form when passing or digging. Despite playing with older teammates, this freshman continues to stand out and I look forward to catching her in action this weekend.
Kennedy Cope
Kennedy Cope
Kennedy is very effective at attacking aggressively on front row whether outside or right side. In addition, the freshman can hit and score kills just as well from back row. Cope ensures she can get in on as many plays as possible by quickly transitioning off the net and being ready to attack often. Simply put, Kennedy is a scorer and a valuable asset to her club and high school teams.
Good luck to all of the Nevada players and teams this weekend. If there is a player you would like yo add to my radar, please email me at: lasvegasvbanalyst@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @lasvegasvbanalyst
