Four Kansas Athletes Make Volleyball Commitments

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Four Kansas Athletes have recently announced their commitments to play college volleyball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a report on one member of the class of 2024 and three athletes in the class of 2025 each with the plan of playing collegiate volleyball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='177958' first='Ava' last='Wadley']</strong>, 5'9”, S, Wichita Southeast, ‘24</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wadley, a prospect from Wichita Southeast, is currently ranked No. 75 by Prep Dig Kansas. She recently verbally committed to Western New Mexico University.  She wrapped up her high school career with 274 assists and 164 kills during her senior season.  Wadley finished in the 1,000-assist club. Now she will take her game to Silver City, New Mexico to compete for the Division II Mustangs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='173376' first='Lauren' last='Lopez']</strong>, 5'10”, OH, Bishop Miege, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lopez enters her senior season 53 kills away from reaching the 1,000-kill threshold. She is currently ranked No. 11 and recently verbally committed to playing for Rockhurst. Lopez racked up 307 kills during her junior season. She is a six-rotation athlete has collected 1,233 career serve receptions and 612 digs. Rockhurst is a private Division II program and the Hawks have a long history of plucking talent out of private schools in Kansas. Lopez's former Bishop Miege teammate Ali Olson and familiar faces from St. Thomas Aquinas and St. James Academy are on the current Hawks' roster.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='219715' first='Campbell' last='Chabot']</strong>, 5'6”, S, Seaman, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two athletes who play club ball with the Topeka Saints announced their verbal commitments over the weekend. Seaman's Chabot is currently ranked No. 28 and committed to Johnson County Community College. Two things stood out to me when I saw this announcement. At first, I was a tad shocked, because I felt Chabot can play DII volleyball, but then the second emotion was a sense of refreshment. Too often I come across athletes who don't want to play JUCO ball at all, but Chabot clearly understands what a JUCO program offers her down the road.  She enters her senior season coming off back-to-back seasons of 500-plus assists and will be looking to help guide the Vikings to back-to-back Class 5A State Championships.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='219727' first='Alana' last='Brewster']</strong>, 5'11”, MB, Silver Lake, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fellow Topeka Saint Brewster also committed to play for the Johnson County Cavaliers. The Silver Lake prospect is currently ranked No. 58 overall in the Class of 2025 by Prep Dig. Brewster plays multiple sports at Silver Lake, but has ultimately picked volleyball as her future sport. She recorded 249 kills in 102 sets during her junior campaign. She also recorded 40 total blocks. She will head to the KC-Metro junior college program to continue to play with Chabot. Johnson County is coming off a 37-win season and has added two stellar athletes to its 2025 roster. Look for both Brewster and Chabo to have successful JUCO careers and then transfer to 4-year programs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
