Spotlight On Five Unranked 2026 Setters

Here is a report on five unranked athletes in the Kansas Class of 2026 who set up their respective attackers for point-scoring kills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I would also like to stress that it's important for athletes to list their heights. Multiple athletes on the assist leaderboard do not have their heights on their profiles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Athletes with a Hudl, Max Preps, or other social media accounts should include their heights to be featured in Prep Dig Kansas scouting reports.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='731050' first='Kayla' last='Steinke']</strong>, 5'5”, S, Olpe, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Steinke is a floor general. She finished with 481 assists in 92 sets for the Olpe Eagles last season. To join the rankings Steinke needs to continue to dominate as a ball distributor or improve her other statistical numbers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Adi Alcala</strong>, 5'0”, S, Canton-Galva, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alcala is a short prospect who will make up for that with experience. She already has 799 career assists after two high school seasons. She finished with 469 assists during her sophomore season. The Canton-Galva prospect has also proven to be an asset defensively with 397 digs in two prep seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='617604' first='Reese' last='Michaelis']</strong>, 5'3”, S, Wabaunsee, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Michaelis is a multiple-spot prospect. She finished her sophomore season with 350 assists in 92 sets. She has a nasty serve that accounted for 48 aces. Michaelis averaged 2.5 assists and scored five points per game for the Chargers' basketball squad.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='782192' first='Ava' last='Newell']</strong>, 5'4”, S, South Sumner, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The South Sumner Outlaws have a young setter to keep an eye on. Newell finished with 394 assists in 76 sets. She could be a future six-rotation player in the making as her sophomore stat line included 153 digs, 135 serve receptions, 38 kills, and 50 aces.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='731045' first='Jaicey' last='Stuhlsatz']</strong>, 5'5”, S, Garden Plain, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stuhlsatz had a solid setting season as a sophomore. She dished out 335 assists in 83 sets for the Owls. She also recorded 171 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
