USA Jr Nationals, which will be held in Las Vegas in early July, is the ultimate test to the end of the season as it will bring together all of the teams who have earned a bid to participate. These wonderful teams have proven themselves through a very long and grueling club season and will compete against other top-notch teams who have earned the right to play in this prestigious tourney. We will be highlighting teams and individual players from the 15 Liberty division that we think you should be watching during the tourney in this series of articles. Let's take a look at a few names to know!

OCVC is led by head coach Scott Bruce. They won their bid by getting second place at the Salt Lake City Showdown National Qualifier. Setter Lorelai Buss is masterful at running a 5-1 offense for her squad. She is not afraid to track balls down from the back row or battle at the net when she is in the front row. She uses a swing blocking technique to get up a little higher in the air and it is effective. As a setter, her hands look identical to each other upon contact and release, which will equate to consistent results for years to come. Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='509234' first='Sofia' last=''] Dajnowiec hits a heavy ball from the left side. When her team needs a kill, they will look to feed her the ball and she comes through a lot. Middle [player_tooltip player_id='527781' first='Ella' last='Opene'] uses her long extremities to press over the net while blocking and knows how to hit the corners extremely well out of the middle to score. Libero Luna Magalllanes is super quick all over the court whether that is running down deflections that are high off of her blocker's hands or covering her hitters. The team seems to have full faith in her ability to back them up so they are very aggressive at the net on both sides of the ball. I also think she has some exceptional ball control out of serve receive. Middle Charlotte Caufield also does a solid job against the opposing team's attackers. She keeps her hands high at the net and this makes her very efficient when it comes to timing the attack. Opposite Caroline Stafford is long and lean on the right side. She provides some much needed firepower for this squad to balance out their attack and not let the opposing defense commit to any of the left sides. Stay tuned for more on this squad as we gear up for nationals.

Summit 15 National Blue

Summit won their bid at the Big South National Qualifier. They are led by head coach John White. It all starts with ball control and their libero Marissa Sager has a lot of it. She has amazing body control as she lunges out to her left and right to extend her defensive range to keep balls from hitting the floor. When she goes back to the service line, watch out! She has a serious cannon that stuns receivers in their tracks. Middle Kerringtyn Keen provides some solid defense at the net for this squad, even while solo blocking due to her long arms and great height. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='427824' first='Elyse' last='Lam'] is taller than most setters in her age group and does a great job of using those long legs to track down passes from her back row. Jillian White has a great jump float serve that is hard to pass. She plays some solid defense out of left back also. Outside hitter Charlie Hardin can connect well on the ball from the left side if given the chance. Middle Finley Penniman is another tall drink of water who can battle well at the net for this squad. She is one to watch out for who can light it up on perfect passes. We will be watching this team very closely at nationals in Las Vegas and you should also.
