Continue ReadingThe State Rankings update is here!!! We have added 20 new players in this update and tons have made some serious moves bettering their stock. We have been watching the 2026 class very closely throughout the entire high school and club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be listed in the rankings due to their individual performances.
Jenelle Legates Jenelle Legates 5'8" | S State CA [2026] 5-8 Setter (Club: Vision/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Legates to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 43rd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She stars on the court for the Vision volleyball club program. When you watch setters distribute the ball, there are certain things that you look for in order to have them ranked on our website. I have had her on my watch list for a while now and she has proven her spot for sure. I couldn’t wait to not only list her, but put her in the top half of the list. She knows her hitters very well and puts the ball exactly to where each of them need it in order to have a chance to score. A great setter can make an average hitter look amazing and that is exactly what she does. I especially like how she is not afraid to play front row and battle at the net against much taller attackers. She uses some silky smooth moves all around the court to keep her offense in system. I love when a setter jump sets to all locations as this really helps to keep the opposing middles holding their ground until the ball is fully released from her hands. This helps to create some splits in the block or even one on one situations for her hitters to exploit. I will be keeping my eye on this young lady and strongly encourage all college coaches to as well. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot on our State Ranking List.
Aviya Russo Aviya Russo 6'0" | OH Los Altos | 2026 State CA [2026] 6-1 Outside (HS: Los Altos/Club: Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Russo to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 52nd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Los Altos High School and also the Academy volleyball club program. After watching this team perform in person this season and also spending a great deal researching them on baller tv in a few tourneys, it is safe to say that they are legit. The one player who stood out the most to me at times was Miss Russo. She is a high-flying and hard-hitting pin who can throttle the ball with the best of them. The ball just disappears from her hands when it rebounds off of it. Opposing defenses better have their eye on her line of approach because if you give her an inch, she will exploit it down the line with a ton of power. She has a picturesque approach that is beautiful to watch in action. The way she moves on the court is truly poetry in motion for coaching purists like myself. I think her hand contact is second to none as many times she has fooled me into thinking she was going to hit one direction and at the last second she changes the direction with a fast snap of the wrist. Although her offense is top tier, it is not the only thing she does well on the court. In her six rotations, she can be seen as a primary passer delivering beautiful dimes to her setter. Her passing average has to be well above a 2.3 for the entire season from what I have seen. This is all due to some amazing technique in serve receive. Aviya is playing lights out and you should really take notice. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
Kylie Parker Kylie Parker 5'9" | OH Harvard Westlake | 2026 State CA [2026] 5-9 Outside (HS: Harvard Westlake/Club: SG Elite/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Parker to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 60th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Harvard Westlake High School and also the San Gabriel Elite volleyball club program. Kylie uses some great hang time and even more amazing vision to find multiple ways to score the volleyball for any team she plays for. Certain players just have total control over where they want to put the ball on the offensive end and that is exactly what Miss Parker does on the pins. I have seen her move her hand all over the ball in order to direct it to where she wants it to go with ease. She can swing hard down the line, cross-court, high/hard/deep off of hands and tool the block with her electric power. What I truly love is how her squad is never truly out of system when she is in the back row due to her quick approach and jumping ability. She can literally score from any position and location on the court. Her coach knows they have some ball control help when she is a primary passer. By being blessed with such fast-twitch muscles, she will always be in position to play the ball no matter where a team serves. Please congratulate her on earning a spot in our State Ranking List.
