Here is a look at prospects from Abilene who impressed Prep Dig and the college coaches who were in attendance.

None of the athletes from Abilene are currently in the Prep Dig rankings but look for several of them to debut in July.

McCullough is a quick athlete who posted solid numbers against Ellinwood. She will lay her body out to make the key dig and is the vocal leader of the Abilene squad. There were times during play when observers might think she was an assistant coach. The junior defensive specialist racked up 16 digs and nine serve receptions in the two-set loss to Ellinwood.

Bryson is an interesting prospect who caught my attention. She hits for the Cowgirls, but as her high school coach explained, she could be a solid collegiate defensive specialist. She has a versatile skill set and can play six rotations. She led Abilene with six kills in the match against Ellinwood. She has an accurate serve and loves to hit cross-court shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='557056' first='Renatta' last='Heintz'], 5'8”, OH, Abilene, ‘26

Heintz as a ton of upside to her game. Right off the bat, I noticed she could improve her game by increasing her upper body strength. She can jump with the best of them and hits with authority, but a stronger upper body would make her a possible dominant hitter. She is quick and plays solid defense. She finished with two kills, five digs, and six serve receptions in the opening match of the Spiketacular.

[player_tooltip player_id='557059' first='Tailyn' last='Needham'], 5'7”, MB, Abilene, ‘26

I was quite impressed with Needham's game. She has bounce in her game and a big reach. She played mostly front row, but impacted the game when she entered. She has solid body control and stays out of the net. She recorded two kills and four digs for Abilene. She has a calming effect on her teammates and seems to be able to slow the game down during high-pressure rallies.
