PD Preview: Top Six Setters in San Marco from 2028

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I had the pleasure of watching the setters from the class of 2028 in San Marcos, California tonight at the Prep Dig Preview. These are the top six setters that impressed me tonight. Let's talk about it and see what caught my eye.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Zarielle Baciu-Witt</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Baciu-Witt is a 5'8" setter from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Baciu-Witt displays a good ability to communicate on the court and directs traffic well. She has a great platform, a good ability to jump, a good defensive dig, and athletic speed. She is one to watch grow in the next few years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='524310' first='Kaedyn' last='Blotzer']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blotzer is a 5'8" setter from Corona Santiago High School. Blotzer is a fast athlete who has a high volleyball IQ. She is a tremendous asset on the court and can set any hitter she is paired with. Gardenhire can keep things consistent on the court and moving in a positive direction. She moves ahead with her offensive plans and distributes the ball to her hitters with parity. She can throw her opponent's game off by moving the ball around and setting her hitters with a good tempo. She is great on defense and can block well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='535379' first='Sydney' last='Lewis']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lewis is a 5' setter from Bakersfield High School. Lewis is very quick on her feet and is great at defense. She can dig with the best of them and saves a bunch of points with her athleticism. She is a very promising athlete and moves the ball well for her team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Caleigh McDaniel</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McDaniel is a 5'7" setter from Redondo Union. McDaniel can be a defensive specialist as well as a hitter in the back row when not setting her teammates. She has a nice high set at times and can set right at the net at others. She is very athletic and unselfish with others on the court. Rincon is a talented athlete with great timing. She never gets flustered and puts the ball right where her hitters like it. She is an intelligent athlete and knows how to best use her teammates on the court. She is fast, athletic, and patient in her work. She can speed up or slow down the momentum on the court when she wants to and is an asset to her team no matter where she is playing on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lucca Rubin</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rubin is a 5'8" setter from Brawley Union High School. Rubin seemed to make other players better around her on the court. She could set up almost any athlete at any time. She knows how to move the ball around and is good at playing defensively and offensively.
