Southeast Michigan features some of the top underclassmen in the state.

In the Class of 2026, one of the best comes from the area. This group of six players seem set to have a big fall season coming up as they move into veteran roles.

[player_tooltip player_id='490029' first='Amina' last='Baszile'], DS/OH Renaissance/Michigan Elite

Baszile is a defender with a lot of potential, but she's also been able to contribute as a hitter. Her hang time off the floor is impressive, and she has arm speed than can complete a swing in a flash. That quickness allows her to also be a solid defender and cover a lot of ground. Baszile is willing to put her body on the line to make a play and that kind of work ethic is going to take her far as she keeps adding facets to her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='226889' first='Madeline' last='Dettling'], OH SMCC/Michigan Elite

Dettling provides 6-foot size for the SMCC program. While she has the length and power to be a dominant pin hitter, it's the growth she's shown as an all-around player that makes her even more impressive. Dettling has improved on her offspeed plays and out-of-system swings. She's also become an improved passer and blocker. The Kestrels will be relying more on her in the upcoming years, so she will continue to get chances to grow as a player.

[player_tooltip player_id='226886' first='Gabby' last='DiVita'], OH GP South/Legacy

DiVita has been one of the elite players from this class since Day 1 and she continues to prove that time and again. Already committed to Nebraska, DiVita has been the go-to hitter on every team she has been a part of, and she has shown the ability to carry that honor without batting an eye. The 6'1” DiVita has all the tools as an outside. She has the power, the finesse, the passing, the serving and the leadership. She's very court aware and doesn't let pressure situations get to her.

[player_tooltip player_id='487356' first='Lucy' last='Monahan'], MH Bedford/L2

Monahan is part of a tremendous group of hitters at Bedford, so she hasn't quite had the opportunity to fully showcase her skills at the prep level. However, he play for L2 this club season has been impressive. She's shown the ability to finish at a high rate whether she's in front of, or behind, her setter, while also showing the footwork to make effective slide kills. Monahan has worked hard to improve on her blocking and defense as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='261179' first='Kiley' last='Urbanski'], OH SMCC/Michigan Elite

Another 6-foot hitting option for the Kestrels, Urbanski is a little more raw, but has a very high ceiling. She's still getting a feel for her pacing and tempo, but Urbanski plays with good composure and awareness. She makes the plays that are available and doesn't try to force things. As she gets more experience, she will find the power shots that work for her. She's going to be a well-coached player that has already shown the ability to play anywhere along the net.

Peyton Zajac, S Airport/LevelUp

Zajac is a setter that isn't afraid to take some chances. She plays with good confidence for a young setter. The ball has a nice touch off her hands, but it's her ability to disguise her own attacks that makes her a dangerous player. She's easily able to turn on the ball and leave the opposing defense caught off guard. Zajac also shows positive leadership skills that help her teammates boost their play.
