The prospect rankings for the class of 2026 just dropped and I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce my top 5 players of the class. Each of these prospects showed me their ability to play at a high level at their current club or high school team. They dominate the competition now and have the chance to make a huge impact at the collegiate level. Although playing different positions each prospect stood out with their own skill sets and impacts for their respective teams.

Camden has one of the highest volleyball IQ's in the class. When she's attacking it seems like she always knows where the defenders are and where they aren't. She constantly takes advantage of space while attacking both aggressively and with her off speed shots. Camden can rip a ball high and deep or bounce it through a seam and into the 10ft line. At the same time she can also cut the ball high line or hard cross. There's no stopping Camden, you can only try to slow her down. The reason why she's my number one recruit in the class isn't just her attacking profile but her passing and defending. She can pass in her midline, outside of her body, or even use her hands. Defensively she's able to read opposing hitters and take away the right gap most of the time. Camden's play is already impressive at this point and yet still has so much room to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='484015' first='Jillian' last='McCarty'] - 6'1" S (Jupiter)

Jillian is the most offensive setter in her class, and if not for [player_tooltip player_id='184108' first='Charlotte' last='Glass'] would be the most offensive setter in the state regardless of class. Jillian is able to approach jump into her sets to either pull blockers for her hitters or take advantage of the lack of blockers in front of her and swing. She's able to take huge rips at the ball off of one foot as well which creates so many one on one opportunities for her hitters. As much as her offensive skillset at the setter position is important, she's just as good of a setter as anyone in the class. She does a fantastic job of setting up her hitters to score whether that comes from her decision making or the precision of her sets. The tempo and location of her sets are consistent to allow her hitters to trust that the ball will be at the right place at the right time. She has the size, length, and athleticism to be dominant at the position for years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='538542' first='Kam'bre' last='Jones'] - 6'0" MB (OTVA)

Kam'bre might be one of the most athletic players not only in her class but in the entire state of Florida. Although she may be considered "undersized" for a top middle prospect she has elite vertical leaping and lateral quickness. When you combine her athleticism with a really long and fast arm, she's almost unstoppable no matter how big the block may be across from her. She might not be the most polished middle prospect on the rankings, but her length and athleticism alone puts her towards the top. The skills she excels at right now would have to be her hitting a quick ball in front as well as her blocking. Both skills are done at an elite level and is almost unstoppable when implemented the right way. What really made me impressed and why she's so high on my rankings is my projection of her play when she's in college. The growth that she could have within the next two years could make her one of the scariest middle blockers in the country.

[player_tooltip player_id='530406' first='Giavanna' last='Artiles'] - 6'2" OH (Tribe)

Gigi is an intriguing prospect that has all of the potential to be the top player in the class. She has the size, the length, and a skill set that is hard to teach. The skill that impressed me the most would have to be her hitting from all spots across the court. She uses her size and length very effectively when swinging at the ball. She keeps her contact high and uses different arm angles to find seams between blocks or even swing over them. Anytime she takes an aggressive approach you can see defenders falling back on their heels getting ready for impact. She's still learning the outside position and once she's able to find the balance and control of both aggressive and off speed attacks she will be near impossible to stop. She has the skills to really excel at the next level. Gigi is the type of player that you watch and wonder what she could do at the next level if she's already playing at this level at this age group.

[player_tooltip player_id='538543' first='Isabella' last='Sangha'] - 6'4" MB (Tribe)

Isabella has all of the skill, athleticism, and size to be one of the top prospects in the country. The most fascinating part of her game isn't her size or her athleticism but it's her eye work. She has the best eye work in the class when it comes to reading opposing setters and hitters when she's up at the net to block. She understands where she needs to be looking and what she should be looking for. The eye work also translates to her offense for her to be able to see opposing blocks and defenders even if she's running a quick tempo ball. When you see her ability to read plays and then you see how flawless her technique is, it's hard not to have her in the top 5. Offensively she's almost unstoppable with her length and speed at the position. Defensively she's able to close blocks quickly and has the awareness and understanding of where to place her hands over the net. Isabella has one of the highest ceilings in the class and it looks like she's only getting started.

As I was creating the prospect rankings I was yet again surprised to see how many high level athletes we have in the state of Florida. Each of these prospects brings their own game to the table but all bring some of the highest level of play I have seen at a 16's age group. The diverse skill sets and impacts they make on their teams is why I love to break down each of these athletes and showcase their skills for everyone to see.
