USAV GJNC Showcase Session I – Players to Watch Vol 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are super excited to partner with USA Volleyball once again to run the official college recruiting showcase for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships. &nbsp;The first session will be held on July 2^nd at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. &nbsp;We are going to be previewing some of the players who have already signed up to participate.&nbsp; The one aspect that sets our showcases apart from every other one in the country is how we offer coverage, before, during, and after it is completed.&nbsp; Without further ado, here are a few players who you should be watching at the showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480605' first='Kalyani' last='Olive'] [2026] 6-2 Outside/Right Side (HS: Sierra Canyon/Club: Los Angeles Volleyball Club/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kalyani is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but is on our official watch list.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Sierra Canyon High School and also plays for the Los Angeles volleyball club. &nbsp;Miss Olive is a very experienced attacker who can hit from any location on the court.&nbsp; She has been known to run high tempo routes out of serve receive on both sides of the setter with precision and ease.&nbsp; The sheer power and reach of this young lady will have so many college coaches drooling after they see her in action.&nbsp; She has such a gifted high touch that is very difficult for opposing blockers to time.&nbsp; What makes her every more dangerous is how she can speed up her downswing for even more power when she sees an opening in the seam of the block.&nbsp; If this happens, watch out because the ball will have so much pace on it that it is hard to see.&nbsp; I am very excited to watch this youngster in action against the rest of the competition.&nbsp; Do not miss out on her!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='478578' first='Sophia' last='Cotter']&nbsp;[2027] 6-2 Right Side (HS: Harvard-Westlake/Club: Sunshine/Verbal: Uncommitted)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sophia is currently ranked as the 46^th best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Harvard-Westlake High School and club for the Sunshine volleyball program.&nbsp; We have seen her before in one of our other showcases where she did so well that she earned a Top Performer award.&nbsp; We are looking for some big things in this one also.&nbsp; What is special about her is how she has been playing up an age group this season during club.&nbsp; Miss Cotter has the athleticism and hand dexterity to adjust her contact in order to move the ball around the block.&nbsp; I love how she creates some awesome angles on her attack by moving her thumb to point downward and tool the block out of bounds.&nbsp; She uses her super long arms during her swing block to press over and take away every inch of space from the attacker to seal it.&nbsp; Her ceiling is very high to be a shut down blocker in the near future.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='550451' first='Kortney' last='Craig']&nbsp;[2025] 6-1 Middle (HS: Klein Oak/Club: [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston']/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kortney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Klein Oak High School and club for the [program_tooltip program_id='431308' first='Texas' last='Advantage'] Volleyball Houston program.&nbsp; Miss Craig has some enormous power in her right arm and upper body that demolishes the ball over and over.&nbsp; Some of her kills are so hard that they feel like they should count for multiple points.&nbsp; The beauty of her play is that she is able to run all quick tempo routes from the middle and also take some solid high tempo swings for the team out of serve receive.&nbsp; Very rarely do you see her hit right into the blocker's hands.&nbsp; She has been taught very well to turn on the ball and hit around the block.&nbsp; When you watch her block, you will see some impeccable timing as she is patient to wait for the attacker to jump before she does.&nbsp; This helps her to be pressing at the same time as the hitter's contact is made.&nbsp; She is also not afraid to play some defense out of middle back if the team needs her to.&nbsp; She has a great soft touch on the ball with her platform and can dig out side of her body as well as her midline.&nbsp;
