Dallas Stock Up Showcase: Five Class of 2025 Players to Watch

<p>The club volleyball season has just ended and high school is still a couple of weeks away, which means that period of the year has arrived: it's time for the Prep Dig Showcases!</p>   <p>This weekend, the state of Texas will host not one, but two Stock Up events, allowing players from the classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027 to gain some valuable exposure, while also getting some reps ahead of the start of the high school season. </p>   <p>Dallas will be the first stop of the Prep Dig Stock Up Showcases in Texas, with the [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation'] Sports Facility hosting the event on Saturday, July 28, from 1:00-3:00 PM.</p>   <p>Players from several regions of the Lone Star State will make the trip to Dallas and as we start counting the days until the event starts, let's take a look at some of them, starting with the Class of 2025 prospects.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Johnston plays high school ball for Lake Belton and appears with Waco Juniors at the club level. She's a high-energy middle, who plays with tremendous intensity at the net and uses her excellent footwork to be available to her setter even in transition plays. Although not very tall for the position, Johnston is pretty productive offensively, making a strong approach and fully stretching her arm to make contact with the ball and beat the blockers. She also makes a nice impact with her blocking, moving well at the net and being able to remain in the air for a long period of time.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/MyKennaJohnston/status/1770598316385996957 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Crill is a libero for the Wylie High School team and has recently switched clubs, joining Frisco Flyers. She missed part of the last club season due to an injury, but returned in great form, showing some interesting skills on the backcourt. Crill has excellent ball control and is a difference-maker on the backcourt with her ability to dig balls. The libero also contributes a lot in serve-receive, covering a lot of ground and using her strong technical skills to deliver the ball to her setter - Crill is very good at establishing a firm position before making contact with the ball, which helps her avoid errors.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/cathryn_crill/status/1782552508533035294 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Lardner offers a strong presence at the net for her high school team Highland Park and her club side [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation']. Very long and physical, the middle uses her athletic tools very efficiently to make an impact at the net. Lardner has a well-diversified offense and can hit many different sets in the middle while making contact with the ball at a high point. The middle is also an elite blocker, who's great at reading opponents across the net, moves well at the net, is quick to get off the floor and uses her long arms very well to close the space when she's running late to the pin.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUKFdFojSko </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Beal plays as a setter for Mansfield High School and the [program_tooltip program_id='431308' first='Texas' last='Advantage'] club. She has a good size to play the position and offers a lot at the net with her length. Beal is a solid playmaker, who's very smooth with her setting and smart with her ball distribution. The setter is also a nice asset to have on the backcourt because she serves well and is very active and effective in playing defense, often performing some overhead digs from the right back position.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Welch is the libero for the Troy High School team and the Waco Volleyball club. She has the attitude coaches love in players for the position as she's hard-nosed and determined to keep the ball away from the floor while also being a vocal leader for her teams. Welch has excellent ball control and is very technical with her defensive actions, having a great success rate in her attempts.
