GJNC Recap: 16U Top Teams and Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Top 16U teams from around Ohio qualified and recently competed at the USA Volleyball national championships. This age group was very strong across the Ohio Valley Region all club season and the results at some of the biggest events across the country speak for themselves, including at the national championships.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">16&amp; Results &amp; Standout Prospects</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the 16 Open division, the highest level at the GJNC and the most difficult to qualify for throughout the club season, Ohio was represented by two squads filled with some of the best prospects in this age group across the state. Mintonette m.61, coming off of their AAU gold medal championship run finished this event in 11th place with an overall record of 7-3. [program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='Elevation' last=''] 16 Goller finished 32nd. NKYVC's top 16U team was made up of top talent from the greater Cincinnati area and northern Kentucky. They earned a 25th place finish.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 16 National division is where Ohio really shined with multiple top-10 finishes. TVC 16 Black capped off a stellar season with a podium finish as they earned the silver medal after dropping their only match of the event the championship match. AVC 16 Red also had a good run as they finished 9th overall in this division with a 9-1 overall record.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>NOVA 16 Navy made a healthy run through the 16 USA division as they place 5th overall. With an chance to stay in Group 1 following the first round of pool play, NOVA took advantage of their opportunity and finished 2nd overall in the next round of pool action followed by a huge three-set win in their crossover to claim as spot among the top eight teams.
