MI Freshman Showcase Preview: Rookie Season On the Clock!

The talent brewing in this year's showcase is shaping up to be top notch! With players from across the state coming to one spot to show off what they got, we have ourselves a seriously fun event!</p>   <p>We've looked at some of the top prospects coming to the Stock Up Showcase, now let's take a look at some of the top rookies coming in and looking to make moves at UWM on August 4th.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lauren West - Croswel-Lexington/Monsters</h2>   <p>Lauren West is a real promising prospect out of the Blue Water Area! Coming into begin her prep career at Croswel-Lexington, the Pioneers are a well-respected program within the area. West is an outside hitter that has the showings of having a big career.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'] - Lakeland/Legacy</h2>   <p>Another outside hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'] is going to make quick work of making her name known this fall! In a short time, Nelson has developed quite the resume throughout her work at [program_tooltip program_id='430319' first='Legacy' last='Volleyball Club']. Just in the last season, she led her 14-1 Adidas team to two top 5 finishes at both AAU and USAV Nationals.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Leia Lassan - South Lyon East/Dynamite</h2>   <p>South Lyon East has really begun to spin up some major talent within the last couple of years. There seems to be little signs of this slowing down. Leia Lassan is an outside hitter that'll join the cougars in the fall after having a nice season with Dynamite. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cyndee Speights - Mercy/Legacy</h2>   <p>Much like Nelson, Cyndee Speights is an incoming rookie that has already seemed to have cooked herself up quite the resume. This past club season, Speights played up an age group with High Performance 15-1s. A team that consistently competed at the open divisions, Speight will join Nelson at Legacy next club season and the reigning champs Mercy, this fall.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ava Rewalt - Richmond/Michigan Elite</h2>   <p>In the club circuit, i think I have seen Ava Rewalt play about every position on the court. Spending a bulk of her time as an outside attacker, Rewalt has a heavy arm, but seems to have a great niche in her first contact. Rewalt will be entering her freshman season on a really excited, and talented group at Richmond.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt'] - Birch Run/Michigan Elite</h2>   <p>Like Speights, [player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt'] has spent her entire club career playing up an age division. This year with 15 Mizuno under HC <strong>Mayssa Cook</strong>, Nostrandt's game has grown leaps and bounds. Nostrandt has an great eye for the game and will be joining the always competitive Birch Run program this fall. </p>
