Oklahoma High School Report Vol 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school season is now well underway and there have been some exciting matches so far.&nbsp; Who has what it takes to win the coveted State Championship?&nbsp; Let's meet a few of the teams and players who are poised for a solid run this season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Booker T. Washington Hornets</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Hornets are firing on all cylinders this season as they sit at an overall record of 23-3.&nbsp; They are led by a few awesome stand out studs.&nbsp; High-flying junior left side [player_tooltip player_id='286287' first='Arriana' last='Brown'] has been pounding the ball from the left side.&nbsp; Her offense is one reason why this team is so formidable.&nbsp; Also it doesn't matter whether she is in the front row or the back row because this squad will find her and give her the ball.&nbsp; With her production right now this season, she is looking like she should be a candidate for Oklahoma player of the year.&nbsp; Junior [player_tooltip player_id='742726' first='Carly' last='Alexander'] has also been providing a lot of offense from the left side lately.&nbsp; Senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='228761' first='Alison' last='Dotolo'] has been doing a lot of her work from the service line with aces and great placement to get opposing serve receivers out of system.&nbsp; Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='212423' first='Brenna' last='Weaver'] is showing no fear whether that is from the service line or as she moves around the court to deliver dimes to her attackers.&nbsp; This young lady has this team's offense on fire with her hands.&nbsp; She knows exactly who to give the ball to in certain situations in order to capitalize on mismatches.&nbsp; Fellow sophomore middles [player_tooltip player_id='740637' first='Lauren' last='Pero'] and Autumn Brennan put up a solid block at the net and help set the tone for the defense.&nbsp; They are definitely a team to watch for as they ride an 11-1 record in their district.&nbsp; We will continue to monitor their progress as the season winds down.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Victory Christian Conquerors</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This squad is showing a lot of promise as they ride an overall record of 25-2 on the year.  They have some very athletic ballers on their roster that deserve some looks.  Setter [player_tooltip player_id='297123' first='Ana' last='Appel'] is as athletic as they come as she tracks down passes from her teammates and as she rises up to swing during out of system plays.  Libero [player_tooltip player_id='301378' first='Lanee' last='Heflin'] does a lot on the court to keep her team in each rally.  She is also a stud jump server too.   Left side JayCee Kerns has a huge swing on the pins.  She can really bring the heat.
