If the first round of playoffs in Division 2 were any indication of what is to come, we are in for an amazing few weeks of volleyball. Leaders on these teams stepped up in a win-or-go-home situation, and some great matches were played.

Kaelyn Kreft - East Troy

Kaelyn is a pin hitter who was unstoppable in East Troy's sweep last night. She had 15 kills on 32 attempts and hit 0.281. This senior leader averaged five kills per set, an impressive number at any level. She also contributed three block assists. Efficiency was the name of the game last night in their first-round matchup, and she will likely be a go-to player in their second-round matchup against Catholic Memorial tomorrow.

Eastlyn Lanham - Edgerton

Eastlyn was impressive to watch. Even watching virtually, I could tell she ran the court like a seasoned athlete. She fed her hot hitters and managed to keep all other athletes involved. Her sets were clean and precise, and she had great fundamentals and footwork. Eastlyn is only a sophomore and still has a lot of high school to go. Her leadership is already impressive, and it will only continue to be a spark for Edgerton.

Bryn Carlson - Ripon

Although I was not able to tune in for the five-set thriller between Ripon and Plymouth last night, I can only assume that Bryn Carlson was at the heart of the Ripon defense like she has been all season. She is a spark in the back row. Her consistency and the sheer area of the court that she takes up are impressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='724623' first='Brooke' last='Palmer'] - Lake Mills

Lake Mills is a program on the rise, and young athletes like [player_tooltip player_id='724623' first='Brooke' last='Palmer'] are helping push the program forward. She is an absolutely electric sophomore middle blocker with a high contact point and a quick arm swing. Brooke is efficient and disciplined in transition. She nearly always finds a way to make herself available for her team. As a middle, she leads her team in kills this season.

Natalie Field - Wisconsin Dells

Natalie is another middle that has consistently been a force throughout the season. She puts up a massive block that stops even the toughest hitters in their tracks. Natalie is also an offensive weapon, hitting 0.307 on the season. Despite only being on the court for three rotations she makes the most out of every moment. She will be fun to watch as the Wisconsin Dells team heads to the Regional Semifinals.
