Class 4 was led by St. Pius X from day one and found themselves in a battle with Jefferson City after losing the first set 14-25. After that set, the Lancers stayed one step ahead of Jefferson City to finish with the state championship. Jefferson City was back, looking to improve last year's 3rd-place finish. The Jays had to sweat out a 5-set win over Lutheran to move on to the title. Over the two days of play, all four teams showed why they had made the final four. Here is my All-Tournament team.

[player_tooltip player_id='475322' first='Kate' last='Sherry'] – 2027 – 5'11" – Middle – St. Pius X

Kate was on fire in the two games at the final four. In the Lancer's semifinal sweep of Platte County, the super sophomore hit .650 with 13 kills and two blocks. In the championship with Jefferson City, Kate proved once again she was hard to stop, hitting .321 with 12 kills, two digs, and two blocks. Kate led all Class 4 players with a hitting percentage of .458.

[player_tooltip player_id='221231' first='Elena' last='Ruble'] – 2026 – 5'7" – Setter – St. Pius X

The one thing I like about Elena's game is that she never tries to do more than feed her big bombers. She is a quiet performer who produces big-time results. In her two wins at Cape, she recorded 79 assists, averaging 11.3 assists per set. Making Elena one of the top assists makers in all classes in the final four.

[player_tooltip player_id='168037' first='Hannah' last='Leftridge'] – 2025 – 5'10" – Outside – St. Pius X

Hannah didn't have her typical hitting performance at this year's final four, but she was a defensive contributor, giving her teammates more chances to terminate. Hannah was the team's top passer and finished with 35 digs. Hannah's 25-dig performance during the championship match with Jefferson City led all of Class 4 in digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='477954' first='Nola' last='Borgmeyer'] – 2025 – 5'8" – Outside – Jefferson City

Nola was a significant player in last year's final four- 3rd place finish, and she came in this year looking for more. Nola finished with 25 kills and 18 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='477959' first='Aydia' last='Mayotte'] – 2025 – 5'6” – Libero – Jefferson City

Aydia led all of Class 4 at the final four with 42 digs. In the semifinal win over Lutheran, Aydia scooped up 23 digs, and in the finals against St. Piux X, she would add 19 more. Aydia came up with some big digs in the semifinal 5-set win over Lutheran to push her team into the final four.

[player_tooltip player_id='477951' first='Madilynn' last='Mitchell'] – 2025 – 5'11" – Setter – Jefferson City

Madilynn has been instrumental in Jefferson City making back-to-back trips to the final four. In the semifinal 5-set win over Lutheran, she finished with eight kills, 28 assists, four aces, 19 digs, and five blocks. During the championship match with St. Pius X, Maddie added five kills, 43 assists, six digs, and three blocks. Maddie will leave the Jefferson City program way better than she found it four years ago.

Gia DeRose – 2026 – 5'4” – Libero – Platte County

Platte County lost both matches in the final four, finishing in 4th place. Gia came up big in both losses with a combined 34 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='737531' first='Lacey' last='Zumbehl'] – 2025 – 5'9" – Outside – Lutheran

This was my first time watching Lacey play, and she was a big banger on the left pin for the Cougars. In the 5-set semifinal loss to Jefferson City, she hammered 18 kills, two aces, seven digs, and one block. In the 3rd place match, she would finish with 22 kills, two aces, 12 digs, and two blocks. Lacey's 40 kills would lead all of Class 4 in kills.

[player_tooltip player_id='168046' first='Katelyn' last='Diani-O'Day'] – 2025 – 5'9” – Setter – Lutheran

Katelyn helped her team push Jefferson City to the brink of defeat but came up short. In the win over Platte County, she added five kills, 38 assists, three aces, and 20 digs, helping her Cougars finish the season with a win.

MVP- [player_tooltip player_id='221230' first='Bennett' last='Raterman'] – 2026 – 6'3" – Middle – St. Pius X

Last year, Bennett didn't have the best final four, but this year, she was the best middle in Class 4. In the semifinal sweep over Platte County, the FSU commit finished with ten kills and a .321 hitting percentage. She also added an ace and three blocks. In the championship match with Jefferson City, Bennett was once again on top with 19 kills, hit .366 with an ace, two digs, and three blocks, helping the Lancers take the Class 4 title 14-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.
