Low-and-behold, the Rams and Mustangs will meet up again for the Division 1 title on Saturday after both prevailed in their respective semifinal on Thursday.

Northville needed four sets to best Marian, while Rockford made quick work of Fenton.

Now when the two meet for the title, they will have over 24 hours to prepare instead of capping off a 12-hour day of play.

A battle of Mustangs saw Northville fend off a feisty Marian squad to advance to Saturday's final. Northville prevailed by scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Marian didn't make it easy on Northville, as the sets were tight throughout and came down to a few key rallies.

Twins [player_tooltip player_id='156326' first='Mallory' last='Reck'] and [player_tooltip player_id='156325' first='Molly' last='Reck'] clutch in pressure situations for Northville.
Even when Marian pushed back, Northville had an answer behind their senior leaders, which is why Northville coach Sarah Lindstrom is confident her team can win again on Saturday.

“I've never been more confident in a team, and I don't think these kids could be more confident in themselves,” Lindstrom said. Every other time we've been here, we get here, we're in the locker room and we say, ‘hey, we made it here. So no matter what happens, we gave ourselves a chance.' Today in the locker room, we said, that's just not the case. We're not here to get third, we're not here to get second. We're here to win the state championship. And we've changed our mentality.”

Marian was led by [player_tooltip player_id='156287' first='Isabelle' last='Busignani'], who capped an impressive career with 16 kills and 20 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='436889' first='Sophia' last='Smith'] added nine kills and 15 digs, while [player_tooltip player_id='226885' first='Allie' last='Davison'] had 38 assists and 13 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='226945' first='Jayla' last='Zayti'] also chipped in with six kills and seven assisted blocks.
