Five Freshmen Outsides That Raised Their Own Stock This Fall

Club teams have either already started practice or are going through tryouts as I type. Our focus will shift to the younger folks that are just now starting to turn heads on the volleyball court. The ball sounds different coming off of her hand, and her poise might have you mistake her for a junior in high school instead of the freshman she actually is. I'm a fan of her relentless nature and willingness to be the face of the offense. A six rotation player with all of the shots, Jada's Boiler Juniors training has a lot of focus on her ball control leading to her attacking presence---something we like to call pass-to-attack. Her size might steer you elsewhere, but shouldn't. My guess is that well-rounded athleticism is guiding her success---she's already averaging over 20 points per game during her first varsity basketball season, and finished last fall with over 300 kills and 300 digs. Miss Barry can do both, and WELL, right now. With 250 kills in her first season and the only attacker for the Braves hitting over .200, she uses her athleticism and court vision to fool, overpower and find spots on the floor that the lumbering defenders just can't get to. Knowing what's graduating from THS, Anaston might have to do a little more attacking, and why not? When you're this successful this early in your career at a 4A school, there's no reason to expect anything less.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
