NIAA 3A Southern Region Championship: Astounding Prospects

<!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Defending Champions, Meadows Mustangs compete against the Moapa Valley Pirates</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HUGE congratulations to both teams as they have had a spectacular season capped off with a loud and challenging 3A Division Southern Region Championship game and both teams will advance into the 3A State Championship bracket starting this Friday, November 8th. This game was a tug-o-war in many ways as the Pirates of Moapa Valley were resilient and did not quit. The Mustangs of The Meadows persevered and the Senior class leadership shined brightly propelling them to a win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":715476,"sizeSlug":"medium","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-medium"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/11/Screenshot_20241104_173619_Gallery.jpg?w=300" alt="" class="wp-image-715476" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Meadows Mustangs</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Mustangs headed by the consistent coaching of Raymond Fafard &amp; Andriana Fafard are on their way to a consecutive state championship appearance with their eyes focused on the goal of repeating as the 3A State Champions. This team has shown strong resolve &amp; determination every game this season. They have dominated their division lead by the phenomenal play of 2027 OH, [player_tooltip player_id='543127' first='Piper' last='Kennedy'] who ended the Southern Region Final with 16 kills, 20 service receptions and 13 digs. This in addition to the great play of 2025 RS, [player_tooltip player_id='724012' first='Sydnee' last='Clark'] who held it down with 12 kills and the defensive magnificence of 2025 MB, Ali Winkler who asserted her presence with 6 very timely blocks. The offense is fired up by the excellent work of 2028 OH, [player_tooltip player_id='564326' first='Kerrigan' last='Falb'] &amp; 2026 L/DS Aarti Patel who both secured 15 digs and 27 service receptions followed by 2025 S, Grace Evans with an astounding 35 assists &amp; 12 digs. It is no surprise at all, that the Meadows Mustangs are on their way to the top.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Meadows Mustangs will compete against the Fernley Vaqueros on Friday, November 8th. The confidence and leadership of Head Coach Mandie Matheson &amp; Assistant Coach Matt Messer was on full display and they are on their way to the State Championship but during this competition, they left their mark at the Southern Region Finals taking a set from the defending champs. Phenomenal leadership and attacks by 2025 OH, [player_tooltip player_id='715109' first='Sofia' last='Hammond'] who was dominant in many ways for Moapa Valley raised the Pirates level of play and energized her teammates to never quit. This squad of resilient ballers were also fired up and lead by 2025 MH, Claire Cox, 2025 OH, Sienna Neilson &amp; 2028 S, [player_tooltip player_id='723988' first='Phoebe' last='Leavitt'] who has EXPLODED through over 500 assists this season!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moapa Valley will compete against the Elko Indians on Friday, November 8th.
