Among the many talented prospects at Sunday's Michigan Top 250 Expo were a handful of 2028 talents that had a lot to prove.

Here's the first part of our evaluations of these talents.

[player_tooltip player_id='628137' first='Gianna' last='Vettraino'], OH Eisenhower/Legacy

Vettriano brought a sound game to the Expo. As a 5'8” outside, she did a good job of staying within herself to make the high-IQ play and not try to force what wasn't there. With that said, when she got a clean look at the ball, Vettraino could bring the hammer down. She's got a high ceiling as a six-rotation outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='722932' first='Rebecca' last='Pavlik'], S Lutheran Northwest/Legacy

Pavlik pushed herself during the Expo and tried to show an array of sets and abilities. She had some bumps in the road, but pushed through and showed she can learn from mistakes. I liked her persistence and her defensive coverage. She did a good job of coming out of the Expo a better player than what she started.

[player_tooltip player_id='587009' first='Kaitlyn' last='Koceski'], DS/L Novi/Legacy

Koceski plays like a veteran, as she's very comfortable taking control in the back row. She communicates very well and is able to direct traffic from the defense. On top of that, she also put in a lot of effort on each rep and each point. Her effort was under control, however, as she still managed to get in good form on difficult digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='582914' first='Ellie' last='Kileen'], MH GR Catholic Central/Rise Academy

The 6-foot Kileen is comfortable playing in the middle or the outside. She's got a good mix of shots and her slide attack shows a lot of promise. Kileen showed good awareness in being able to play off the blockers well to finish points. Her swing also shows consistent power. As her tempo continues to pick up, she should be a dangerous finisher.

[player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt'], DS/L Birch Run/Michigan Elite

Nostrandt can be a little unassuming when she's not on the court. She comes off very composed and content. However, her play on the court doesn't show that at all. Even though she maintains that focus, she makes some great plays and shows impressive instincts. Nostrandt times out dives and lunges very well, and she's also got a serve that created a lot of problems for her peers.

[player_tooltip player_id='587013' first='Leia' last='Lassan'], OH South Lyon East/L2

Lassan is listed at 5'11” but seems to play longer with her reach. She started a little slow, but as the Expo went on, found another gear. I think playing with older prospects that pushed the pace helped pick her game up and show what she's capable of. Lassan has a nice swing with consistent power. She just needs to continue to get more comfortable at a faster pace.

Jayda Guyton, DS/L Renaissance/Michigan Elite

Guyton was a vocal leader among a competitive defensive group at the Expo. She was very supportive of her peers and kept a positive attitude herself while facing difficult drills. Guyton saw the court well and anticipated the play to get herself in position to succeed at a consistent rate. She didn't back down from a challenge when up against some of the older, powerful hitters.

Maxine Dubeauclard, DS/L Cranbrook/High Performance

Dubeauclard pushed herself for the two-hour Expo. She was consistently throwing her body around to make a play and wasn't afraid to take some bruises along the way. That allowed her to make some difficult digs, but she was never deterred if she didn't quite get to the ball. She came back even stronger the next time. Her work ethic should take her far, as she already has a solid foundation when it comes to her skillset.
