Redland Rendezvous Preview: Players to Watch

This weekend, the Bennet Center and Oklahoma Charge Volleyball Club will host one of Oklahoma's biggest tournaments of the year—the Redland Rendezvous. With 13 divisions and over 300 teams, the tournament is set up to be one of the best yet. As we look forward to the guaranteed, competitive games ahead, let's look at a few players sure to make a difference this weekend.    [player_tooltip player_id='715182' first='Isabella' last='Robberson'] is a DS/L deeply committed to the sport. It is apparent from her socials and her approach to volleyball that Isabella eats, sleeps, and breathes volleyball. Coming into the recruiting scene as a freshman already taking steps for college ball shows her commitment and passion for the sport. A notable attribute of her game is her ball-handling skills with out-of-system settings. As a libero, it can be tricky to take a second ball and control it as well as setters do for their hitters, but Isabella has no problem with it. She places it right where it needs to be to keep the attackers on pace for aggressive swings. Isabella is also very calm on defense, making her digs and saves look easy. She will be competing at the Redlands tournament this weekend in the 15 open division and is a must-watch.     [player_tooltip player_id='253948' first='Ella' last='Hale'] is an outside hitter with an undeniable passion for the game. As a 2026 grad, she's already making a name for herself in the 17's open division. One standout quality of Ella's is her versatility on the court. She is an excellent hitter who will be an easy grab for college ball, but what makes her even more exciting is her defensive awareness. She uses her athleticism to cover ground quickly and then transition to attack as well. Ella is useful as a back-row attacker as well, making herself available on the bic (back-row quick attack). As an OH she can hit from anywhere on the net, providing a mean 2 attack as well as some solid Macs. Ella is consistently reliable for her team keeping her timing, control, and accuracy at the forefront of her game. [player_tooltip player_id='253948' first='Ella' last='Hale'] is one to watch in the 17/18s open division. Her combination of raw talent, volleyball IQ, and dedication to the sport makes her an exciting prospect for the future.     [player_tooltip player_id='394209' first='Amelia' last='Mullen'] is a setter who has quickly made a name for herself in the 16s open division. She is known for her precise decision-making and court awareness, Amelia brings a calm yet dynamic presence to her team. As a setter, she understands the importance of timing and communication, constantly working to create opportunities for her attackers while keeping the flow of the game. Amelia can read the defense well and position herself to deliver well-timed and location-perfected sets for her attacks, whether in-system or not. To help her out, she is a tall-left-handed setter, so she also dumps to score points and keeps opposing defenses in check. She is every college coach's dream setter! You can tell by watching her that she just has a natural athleticism and feel for the game that sets her on top of the recruiting pile. Amelia is a player to keep an eye on in the 16s open division.     [player_tooltip player_id='297088' first='Valyn' last='Donahoo'] is an outside hitter who is already making waves in the 17/18s open division. Valyn's powerful swing and court awareness make her a dominant force at the net, while she can also handle serve-receive and defense in the back. She transitions smoothly between defense and offense allowing her to contribute all around the court. What makes Valyn stand out even more is her mental game. She plays with a level of confidence and composure that is rare for her age and normally only found at the collegiate and pro levels. Her composure allows her to bring an infectious attitude and energy to her team that keeps her teammates motivated and locked in. Valyn's combination of power, skill, and leadership makes her an exciting player to follow in the 17/18s open division this weekend!     Brylee Hancock is a standout DS/L in the 16s division. Known for her quick reactions and defensive instincts, Brylee excels at reading the game and making digs in high-pressure situations. When asked about her favorite quality of her game she says "I will never give up." She shows a level of mental toughness and grit that exceeds her age. Brylee's maturity on the court is remarkable. She plays with confidence and a relentless work ethic, always hustling for every point. Her passion for the game is evident in her play.
