While it isn't common, there are some junior high kids that made their marks this year on the varsity volleyball scene. However, this past high school season as an 8th grader, Drinkall was the starting libero for the Rushford-Peterson varsity squad. Earning Three Rivers all conference honorable mention honors, Drinkall recorded 355 digs, 38 assists, and 18 aces on the year. One of the leaders of the team was 8th grader Mali Quam. She led the team in kills and kills/set and had over a .200 hitting percentage. While she has the ability to score, she also helped her team on defense. She was third on her team in blocks and also averaged 4.2 digs per set. Making the top 14s team for Northern Lights, Quam stands to have a great 14u club season and be an even bigger standout when she returns in the fall for Kenyon-Wanamingo.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["523205"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-676afd8217a45"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">An outside hitter at Dover Eyota, I watched Frie hit and was instantly impressed this past fall. She is explosive in her approach and puts the ball down with so much power. Being young, she spent the majority of her time on JV but did get a few sets in on varsity. She is technically very sound and has good, quick movements. With volleyball powerhouse Caledonia graduating many high level players this spring, Reinhart will likely fill a bigger role next season on varsity as a freshman.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
