Big City Luau: Fresh Faces, One Mission

After watching over 50 teams and nearly 500 players today, I'm blown away by the sheer talent on display. During an intense showdown between Kokoro and Sanford Academy-Sioux Falls in the 16's Division, an older fan approached me, astonished at the level of play. The match went to three sets, drawing college coaches from every corner of the gym, with even more flocking to the court as the energy escalated. This fan couldn't believe these were just 16-year-olds, and honestly, neither could I. What I do know is that hard work pays off, and these girls proved it today with relentless hustle, grit, and undeniable skill. The intensity wasn't limited to just one game—talent was on full display everywhere. College coaches, if you weren't here, you missed out big time. These are the athletes you want on your team. Here are five players who stood out above the rest.    Ella had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Just when you thought it was safe to glance at another court, she elevated the game with her killer kills. Her strong hits to the deep corners were nearly unstoppable. No matter how tight the game got, Ella never backed down—she kept swinging with relentless power and confidence. A true game-changer!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Josie made her presence known with her exceptional blocking skills. She moves side to side with ease, seamlessly shutting down attacks at the net. Her movement off the net to run her routes is fluid and precise, showcasing her advanced skill set. Josie plays well beyond her years, and her powerful swings drilling the back corners were a testament to her talent. A rising star to watch!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Ryleigh first caught my eye at our showcase, and once again, she didn't disappoint. She has it all—grit, hustle, and passion! Ryleigh is a player who truly understands the game, with an off-the-charts volleyball IQ. She's fearless, going up against any blocker without hesitation. Her ability to read the court and drill open spots with precision makes her a standout. Ryleigh is the full package and a must-watch this season!~Theres @prepdigdakotas     Emersyn was an absolute workhorse at the net, making her presence known with blocks at all three positions. What truly stood out, though, was her exceptional quickness in running her routes. She's a dynamic player who consistently puts in the effort and makes an impact every time she steps on the court.
