Class of 2025/2026 Rotation of the Month: February

As many Arkansas teams competed in local and national tournaments throughout the month of February, many athletes showed excellent talent across all positions. These young athletes made huge impacts on the court for their team representing volleyball across the state. These selections are based on team contributions and overall influence on the game. Their consistency is proven to make them some of the best in Arkansas.   OH - [player_tooltip player_id='726081' first='Baryett' last='Janes'] OH - Mia Southall MB - Shaylee Howard MB - Kayson Reeves S - London Cabantac L - [player_tooltip player_id='743777' first='Ella' last='Shelby']    Janes is a smart and crafty outside hitter, consistently finding ways to score even against the toughest defense. Janes is great at swinging around the block, adjusting the angle to exploit gaps within the block. Janes uses the opponents block to tool the block giving her an advantage at putting the ball out of reach. Between hitting high off the blockers hands or hitting through the gaps of the block, Janes is a reliable outside in any situation.     Southall may not be the tallest front row player, but her vertical is undeniably impressive. Her quick transition off the net makes her a strong outside that can swing from any spot. Southall can be seen swinging on both the right side and the outside and is equally consistent on both pins. Her court awareness leads her to take shots over the block when she sees an open in the court. Southall is also great at swinging line. Southall is a reliable option for her setter.     Howard's blocking instincts and consistent offense makes her one of the best middle blockers in Arkansas. Her ability to read setters and close blocks makes her a force at the net. Her quick approach and fast arm swing allows her setter to set her with ease, knowing Howard is going to put the ball away. Her height and reach allows her to be a formidable, shutting down hitters and controlling the net. Her high contact point puts pressure on opposing defenses.     Reeves height and high contact point gives her an advantage. She is able to swing over most blocks, or tool the block. When her team is in system, the ball is going to Kayson Reeves. Her setter will set middle to Reeves on passes that are off the net because Reeves is able to swing out of middle from any angle the ball is coming from. Reeves takes big steps closing the block at the pins, forcing the opposing attackers to have to swing around.     Cabantac is a very aggressive setter that will keep her offense running, while also pushes over into the deep corner on two. Reversing the flow of the sets has given her team opportunities to swing on open nets. Cabantac is an all around great player. Running a 6-2, she sets from the back row and swings in the front row. Cabantac has a heavy arm swing that is hard for the opposing team to defend. Her defense is also consistently good making her both an offensive threat and a defensive threat.     Shelby's defense is top notch making her someone you do not want to serve the ball to. Her serve receive is near perfect and reads the serve off the hand very well. Shelby opens up well to deep serves and moves quickly to short serves. Shelby is a scrappy libero that will pick up any tip or hard shot in her area. Shelby is one of those liberos that takes away opposing hitters highlight reels because she is going to dig their attack.
