Feb Fiesta is officially in the books and it was another solid weekend. We saw Charge South, Virago and Elevate all do well for Oklahoma at multiple age divisions, particularly at the older ages. Let's take a look at a handful of clubs and players who did well this past weekend.

Elevate 17.1 WON the 17s division, 18.1 finished tied for 5th, and 16.1 also finished tied for 5th.

Virago 16-1 finished tied for 3rd, marking the 4th tournament to finish in the top 5 and now back to back 3rd place finishes. 15-1 also finished tied for 3rd with 15-2 right behind them tied for 5th.

Charge South 18-1 finished tied for 3rd and 16-1 finished tied for 5th overall.

Players:

Anna Staiger- Libero for Performance 16-1 Regional. Good lord this kid could cover some ground. She was an absolute digging machine all weekend long. She was a serve receive headache for teams and possibly more impressive was her ability to read hitters. She made a multitude of diving plays to get crucial digs. She also caused problems from the service line, disrupting hitting patterns and causing teams to be out of system often.

Sophia Lynch- Outside Hitter for Charge South 16-1. Sophia could score from anywhere on the court. She had a great cross body swing from the right side when pulled back in serve receive. She brought solid power in her swings from the outside and from her back row attacks. She has a ton of upside potential and we look forward to seeing her progress throughout the season.

Kloe Kok- Outside Hitter for Elevate 15.1. This team played up this weekend and Kloe was a playmaker even against the older girls. She was able to crank it line, challenge blockers while hitting high hands, and you better not leave a gap or she will go for that too. Her digging ability was also something that stood out. She was just as focussed on getting a dig as she was a kill.

[player_tooltip player_id='750430' first='Judah' last='Pratt']- Middle Blocker for Virago 15-1. Judah can be a force at times in the middle. She has been working on her ability to transition and be available to be set, as well as her timing on up tempo balls. Her abilities are beginning to shine through with the hard work. She has the frame and reach to be an assertive force when blocking opposing hitters. She has a high ceiling that she is on her way to reaching.

[player_tooltip player_id='741365' first='Laila' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='740632' first='Aaliyah' last='Carter']- Both are Outside Hitters for TPV 16-1. Both had question marks on their ability to be consistent when attacking and they helped answer that this weekend. Both looked much better and had a handful of key plays that kept them in the tough 3 set pool play match with the eventual champs, Elevate 17.1. Both had some really well timed kills to spark the offense. They also both had some big time stuff blocks as well. Check our instagram for a video on that. This team is starting to become very dangerous and these two are a big factor in that!

We are excited about where Oklahoma volleyball is headed! We have a relatively quiet week for in state tournaments ahead. Some teams are headed to big time out of state events though and the following weekend will be a doozy! Both Kaizen and Rankings will be going on and you wont want to miss either.
