The Oklahoma Rankings Tournament, an invite-only tournament with the state's best teams, will be held this weekend at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. This event is an important step toward the Regionals Tournament in May because it has top-level competition in several divisions. As we prepare for intense games, let's look at some great teams looking to make a splash in the 17s division this weekend.

With some of the top ball-control players in the state, Peak 17-1 comes into the competition poised and prepared to contend. Defensive star [player_tooltip player_id='301378' first='Lanee' last='Heflin'] is a game-changer due to her accurate passing and capacity to confound even the best hitters. DS/L [player_tooltip player_id='301381' first='Rachel' last='Megna'] appears to be everywhere at once and is another important component leading to the team's success. She can read plays before they happen thanks to her extraordinary court awareness, which puts her in a prime position to make important defensive plays. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='220246' first='Mayli' last='Whetter'] is a tall, defensive-minded playmaker who can also attack and is in charge of the offense. She is a genuine utility player since she not only makes correct sets but also plays excellent right-back defense. Her aggressive, topspin right-side swings make it challenging to track and defend her attacks. Whether it's a well-timed tip as an attacker or a cunning dump as a setter, Mayli's astute decision-making goes beyond setting. She knows how to keep defenses guessing. Peak 17-1 will be an extremely strong force in the 17's category with this degree of talent and adaptability. This weekend, expect them to make a strong run!

Another top dog in the division is [program_tooltip program_id='432025' first='OK' last='Charge'] 17 UA Tulsa with their offensive powerhouses. [player_tooltip player_id='288990' first='Jada' last='Faulkner'], a middle blocker, leads the squad with her strength, quickness, and court awareness. She demonstrates her timing and net skills by dominating short sets and slides. Jada is a strong attacking weapon even against challenging opponents because of her ability to strategically position the ball and assess defenses. With her superb blocking and lateral quickness, she shuts seams, slowing batters and altering their attempts. OH/RS [player_tooltip player_id='740355' first='Gracie' last='Grannis'] adds to the team's power. She is a tenacious left-handed hitter who approaches and swings her arm forcefully. She is a dangerous scorer. [program_tooltip program_id='432025' first='OK' last='Charge'] 17 UA Tulsa will have a significant tournament impact with these offensive talents.

Another squad ready to cause a stir is Virago 17-1, who are led by standout outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='286288' first='Kamryn' last='Collins']. Kamryn is a continual offensive danger because of her forceful style and strong transitions. She is a challenging hitter to read and stop because of her ability to disguise attacks, which keeps defenders guessing. [player_tooltip player_id='603787' first='Caroline' last='Soto'] is a talented and capable player on the right side. She is a strong voice that encourages her teammates, which is a trait that is frequently overlooked yet crucial to a team's success. Caroline is a well-rounded asset for her team because of her back-row play, which significantly deepens her game beyond her effect on the front row. Virago 17-1 is more than capable of taking on elite teams and possibly upending the rankings this weekend, especially with these two at the forefront.

This skill level means that the fight in the 17s division will be very exciting. Watch out to see which team can handle the task this weekend!

Stay tuned for more articles on Oklahoma's finest volleyballers!
