The setters in the Class of 2026 can get outshined by the talented hitters in this class.

But, there are still plenty of talents that could make a big splash at the college level.

Here's a look at seven setters in the 2026 crop that are flying below the radar at the moment, but perhaps not for long.

[player_tooltip player_id='481379' first='Rylie' last='Barriger'], Lowell/FaR Out

The Lowell setter had a breakout fall and showed just how high her ceiling is as a setter. She's always been productive, but this season Barriger proved she can do more than just be adequate. Barriger can push an up-tempo offense and get high kill rates out of hitters while going up against top level competition. Barriger showed a lot of competitive fire that should draw the attention of college programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='490361' first='Aleah' last='Brackett'], Bronson/Empowered

Brackett has been a standout hitter out of necessity on most of the rosters she's been part of, but she's making a real push to play setter at the next level and hoping to get more opportunities at the position. Playing club ball in Indiana, Brackett has been mixing between setter and right side. She's a gifted athlete that can play any position and succeed. She has a great feel for the game and as a setter, she's made big strides in a short time. Already a potent hitter, Brackett knows where she needs to get the ball for the hitters she's setting for.

[player_tooltip player_id='226903' first='Reese' last='Jones'], TC St. Francis/Northshore

Jones is one of the 2026 setters in Northern Michigan that shows promise. She has been a big asset for St. Francis and helping keep the Gladiators among the top programs in Division 3. Technically sound, Jones provides a lot defensively on top of being an accurate and consistent setter. She has the luxury of playing with some potent hitters, but they are also benefitted by playing with a setter that can get them the ball with a chance to succeed.

[player_tooltip player_id='261202' first='Peyton' last='Lowes'], Northville/L2

Lowes is a talented setter/hitter combo player that has been biding her time while behind one of the state's great setters at Northville. Still, she's been improving on her play throughout her club seasons and is ready to be a big breakout star next fall. Lowes is well-coached, and it shows in her control of the offense and her willingness to take chances and make aggressive plays. Her defensive play and ability to attack makes her a multi-dimensional prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='227707' first='Gracelynn' last='Olson'], Fruitport/MVA Rise Academy

Olson has gotten a lot of reps as a starting setter and worked with some great hitters in the Grand Rapids area. Though Fruitport hasn't been able to string together a lot of high-profile wins, the team and Olson have still been better for the experience and challenges. In club play, Olson looks like a polished veteran and has a lot of comfort leading an offense. She mixes up the sets well and maintains a high level of accuracy.

[player_tooltip player_id='490026' first='Allison' last='Rutledge'], Lapeer/Michigan Elite

A 6-foot setter/hitter combo, Rutledge brings a lot of intangibles to the court that can make her a special player. Her size and length immediately give her an edge, but her agility and instincts have helped raise her game to another level in the last year. Rutledge is deceptive with her play and does a good job of keeping defenses on their heels. On top of her setting ability, she battles hard at the net defensively and gets a lot of touches on opposing attacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='226935' first='Lucy' last='Stoll'], South Lyon

Stoll was a big catalyst behind the resurgence of South Lyon this fall. She showed great leadership from the setter position. As a multi-sport athlete, Stoll exhibits great hand/eye coordination that is key to playing the position. She has worked with some young hitters, but has helped elevate their play quickly. Stoll plays fast, but in control, and her competitive fire is contagious for her teammates.
