This marks the second season for the South Central Sparks out of Somerset. Somerset head coach LaDawna Tucker guides the team.

Four players come from Wayne County. The setter is the dynamic 5-3 freshman [player_tooltip player_id='749482' first='Hannah' last='Denney'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='594477' first='Addison' last='Edwards'] gives the team power from the outside.

The other two Cardinals are freshmen in 5-8 outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='611973' first='Peri' last='Guinn'] and 5-11 middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='749748' first='Harlow' last='Clark']. The two just helped the Wayne County girls basketball team to the 48th District championship and will join the team after that season ends.

Three more players will play for Somerset this fall. They are 5-10 right side hitter [player_tooltip player_id='535194' first='Sara' last='Tucker'], sophomore libero/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='535263' first='Reagan' last='Childers'] and freshman defensive specialist Ally Idlewine.

Corbin sophomore Charli-Grace Nartker and Pulaski County freshman Claire Gill round out the roster. Nartker plays outside hitter and Gill is a setter.

Tucker guided Somerset Christian in the first five seasons as members of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. The team is 8-5 on the season so far. The team won all four games in the [program_tooltip program_id='510734' first='Lexington' last='United'] Volleyball Battle 4 Beerman Mini Series on Saturday and Sunday.

Childers (pictured) brings good experience to the team. She does a great job setting up the offense with sound first contacts. Childers also goes hard after balls. Her attitude on the court rubs off on her teammates.

Tucker is a lefty presence that demands attention because she hits balls at tough angles. Tucker takes great approaches to the net and takes big swings at balls. Tucker is an underrated passer. She makes key saves at big times in games.

Guinn will give the team a sound outside presence when she joins the Sparks after basketball season. Guinn guides balls away from defenders a number of ways. It could be off blockers one play then solid hits across the court to the back row on the next play. Guinn does a sound job on first contacts, helping the Cardinals get into a good offensive rhythm. She'll only improve with more experience.

Denney brings two seasons of varsity experience into club season and it shows on the court. It helps she plays with three club teammates at Wayne County. She has adjusted well to her other teammates consistently finding ways to put them in position to succeed. Denney does make good first passes to keep plays alive. Denney is also a sound server.
