From my years of watching and analyzing the sport, I can confidently say that playing middle is one of the most challenging and exhausting roles on the court. From moving between all three positions at the net to blocking, then sprinting off the net to set up for your next approach—it's non-stop action. Add in the responsibility of staying out of the setter's way, and it's a full-time job.   As we launch our 2028 rankings for North Dakota, I am beyond excited to highlight what makes these top 5 middles stand out.
