This rank was a pretty large update for this class. We added 50 players to the ranking and 45 new names to our watch list. We also saw some players make really big jumps in the rankings. Let's look at the most recent rank update for the class of 2027.

Why Such a Big Update?

We always see a huge jump from 15s to 16s. From a numbers standpoint, more athletes in this age play at the varsity level, and you see a lot of teams playing in bigger tournaments as athletes look to take their game to the next level. We also pretty consistently see a big jump in the physicality of play from 15s to 16s. Many clubs and high schools utilize strength programs to help with injury prevention and performance on the court. So many factors play into why the 16s season tends to be massive and competitive, one of which is that recruitment opens for this class this summer. No matter what the reason, we have players exploding onto our radar everywhere we turn, and it is such a fun age group to do coverage on.

That being said - please remember there were a lot of shifts with this ranking update. Your rank is not the same as your worth on the volleyball court! Every single athlete brings something valuable to the court, and remember, there are a lot of you and only a few of us! We work hard to watch as much volleyball as possible (I have pages and pages of notes), but no rank will ever be perfect.

If you want to get on our radar, remember you can always claim your profile (it's free) and follow the Wisconsin Scouts on social media (my Instagram handle is @prepdigrachel). If you see we will be at an event you are playing at, don't be afraid to send us your schedule or come say hi!

The Top 10 Held Strong

We had very little movement in the top 10 in this class. [player_tooltip player_id='564276' first='Lauren' last='Tisler'] broke into the Top 10 and is now ranked 9th. Her physicality of play makes her nearly unstoppable. The top athletes in this class are leaders on their respective teams, contributing not only to the physical game but also extensively to the mental game.

This Class is Earning Recognition

I love seeing who gets recognized after tournaments. And I am sure I will miss some here. But you had [player_tooltip player_id='435901' first='Piper' last='Graham'] with [program_tooltip program_id='557038' first='Milwaukee' last='Juniors'] earning MVP of the Saint Louis President's Day Classic in the Premier Blue Division. Piper was also named the Best Attacker in the 16 Elite division of the Badger Region Power League. Her teammate [player_tooltip player_id='435898' first='Morgan' last='Kopischke'] was also named to the All-Tournament Team. [player_tooltip player_id='564283' first='Isabel' last='Stauber'] from [program_tooltip program_id='431479' first='Wisconsin' last='Juniors'] was named to the 16 Club Red All-Tournament Team at the STL President's Day Tournament. [player_tooltip player_id='388454' first='Paige' last='Proefrock'] earned the Best Attacker award, and [player_tooltip player_id='724609' first='Scarlett' last='Reis'] earned Best Defensive Player at Badger Region Power League in the 16 Elite Division.

There is a lot more volleyball to play!

We are deep into qualifier season, but there is still a lot of season left on the schedule! The second half of club season will be an exciting time to see all of the amazing teamwork and improvements that everyone makes.
