Full Schedule, Top Seeds Ready For PD Bracket Busters
The schedule is set for the Prep Dig Bracket Busters which is set to serve on this Saturday, March 29.
The concept of this event is to have a “March Madness” feel where teams are put into brackets from the very start. There are some divisions with an odd number of teams where we put them into a three team pool.
Matches will begin at 8:00 AM at the Community First Champion Center in Appleton where we will be using 12 courts in the Fieldhouse and Seasonal Arena.
Community First Champion Center
Fieldhouse:
Courts A, B, and C - 17s/18s
Courts D, E, F, and G - 15s/16
Seasonal Arena
Courts 5, 6, and 7 - 14s
Courts 8 and 9 - 12/13s
In the 14s, 15/16s, and 17/18s teams will be in a four team bracket where they will look to advance to the “Gold Bracket” which will be our final four. In the 12/13s division with eight teams there will be an opening round game where that will send teams to into an eight team bracket.
How Were Seeds Determined?
We use AES rankings as a starting point. However, this isn't as cut and dry as what the numbers tell us, especially when we are combining age groups. We take a look at results of teams at tournaments as well as who some of the teams have beaten that will determine where they fall into place. Could there be some discrepancies with seeding? Of course, this isn't an exact science much like how seeding is done for the NCAA Tournament. We'll see what upsets play out with this event.
Who Are the Top Seeds?
17/18s - Elevate 18 Odd Ducks, WI Flight 18 Black, Heat 18 Flame
15/16s - Elevate 15 Panda, Spiketown 15.2, Elevate 16 Giraffes, Heat 14 Flame
