Let's take a look at some standout athletes who are officially taking the next step in their volleyball careers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mecate Gray - Henderson State University (Setter, 5'10, Cabot High School)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Henderson State University, located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, competes in the NCAA Division II Great American Conference (GAC). The Reddies focus on developing well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the court. Mecate Gray, a talented 5'10” setter from Cabot High School, is set to bring her high volleyball IQ and precision to the Henderson State offense. A dynamic playmaker, Gray has showcased strong decision-making and leadership, consistently putting her hitters in the best position to score. With a growing volleyball program, the Warhawks are working toward making a strong impact at the national level. [player_tooltip player_id='749619' first='Madison' last='Derden'] originally committed to Blue Mountain Christian University but made the switch to ULM following a coaching change. The Conway High School standout brings versatility as both an outside hitter and right-side attacker. The Eagles emphasize a strong work ethic and player development, making it an excellent environment for athletes looking to make an impact at the collegiate level. Amber Kahler, a setter from Abundant Life Christian Academy, brings confidence and precision to the game. Known for her consistent sets and dominant serves, she thrives in running an up-tempo offense and keeping defenses on their toes. This exciting addition to the university's athletic department presents a unique opportunity for athletes to be part of a program from the ground up. Caylie Apperson, a versatile opposite and middle from The New School in Fayetteville, is joining the Eagles as part of their inaugural squad. With her strong net presence and ability to play multiple front-row positions, Apperson is destined to be a key piece in establishing the program's foundation.
