Players That Can Take Control Of The Game

In every sport, there are athletes that can shift the momentum of the game. In volleyball, these athletes showed clutch plays, skills, and confidence that boosted their teams momentums to win games. This article highlights the players who have the talent, mindset, and leadership to take over the game, making the impossible be possible. These are the athletes that do well under pressure and can embrace the big moments.   Mazie Peters Abby Cooper Harper Sellers Brynn Denney [player_tooltip player_id='412444' first='Haley' last='Thomas']    Peters is a pretty undersized middle blocker but her fast arm swing is very tough to defend. Peters is great at being able to swing around the block. Peters runs calls for fast tempo sets that gives her the ability to beat the block or find gaps in the block. Peters is also pretty solid at blocking. Peters is a very consistent middle blocker that almost always puts the ball away, scoring many points for her team.     Cooper is also a pretty undersized attacker, but she has a very high volleyball IQ. Her volleyball IQ lets her see the block and swing around or tool the block. Cooper swings a very hard driven thumb up ball down deep down the line where there is no one. Cooper is also pretty good in the back row taking swings out of middle back. Cooper also has a hard float serve to defend.     Sellers is a well rounded player on her 501 team. Sellers has an interesting arm swing that throws off the blockers. She hits very hard driven shots to the deep corner and is well at throwing hard driven tips to the deep line. Sellers is an aggressive player that swings from anywhere on the court. Her back row attacks are just as good as most people swinging from the front row.     Denney is very effective out of the front row with her blocking and her attacking. Being 6'2 as a high school freshman puts you way above the rest. Her contact point is very impressive. Denney runs a very effective quick tempo out of the middle putting the ball away. Denney is good at swinging through the left back/middle back seam and the middle back/right back seam.     Thomas is a very high volleyball IQ setter. She pushes fast tempo sets to both pins and her middles, creating chaos on the other side. Her fast tempo sets and ability to reverse the flow of the net often sets her attackers up for success and to swing on no block. Thomas is a pretty aggressive setter often times scoring points by dumping from the back row. Thomas is hands down one of the best setters in Arkansas.
