Productive Pin Hitters at Cross Court Classic 15 Open division

Brown Convention Center, in downtown Houston, this past weekend, as the venue hosted the 2025 edition of the Nike Cross Court Classic, one of the most traditional club tournaments of the year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This year's edition featured 710 teams from all over Texas and neighboring states, which competed for two days in one of the 29 divisions of one of the largest tournaments held in Houston in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/03/nike-cross-court-classic-15-open-photos/">Nike Cross Court Classic: 15 Open - Photos</a></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas was in attendance on Saturday and we got to watch all eight teams that competed in the 15 Open division. A very technical and well-rounded player, she was a stud for them at the pin, appearing extremely well on both sides of the ball. Gottsman was very difficult to stop at the net because of how explosive and intelligent she was. On several plays, she looked like a beach volleyball player, getting to swing, hanging in there for a split second to take a look across the net and putting the ball down with an inch-perfect shot. She displayed an interesting mix of power and technique, which suited her very well in her duties as a pin hitter. Hatcher got off the floor very well, used her length very efficiently and displayed impressive firepower in her right arm, but she was also able to score with shots placed near the end line. A long and athletic pin hitter, she was the team's main offensive option and did a good job of using her physical and technical tools to put the ball down at a consistent rate. Glover took full advantage of her high contact point to overcome blockers at the net, but also displayed great vision and feeling to know when to score off of tips. Despite the team's inconsistent campaign, she was still able to showcase her game well, displaying an interesting ability to contribute in different areas of the game with great consistency. Doerre had a major role in serve-receive with Xcel and, despite covering a large area of the court, managed to deliver accurate passes to her setter.
