This weekend was a lovely volleyball weekend at the MOVA Madness 15s tournament, but one team stood out. PAO STL 15 Black is a team loaded with high-level 2028 players who need to be noticed. PAO STL 15 Black breezed through the field without dropping a set and could have made gold in the 18s field. Between my matches, I watched these kids put on an impressive display. Keep these names in your file, as they all have the potential to become some of the best players in the Gateway Region over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='708619' first='Mia' last='Piskulich'] – Outside/Setter

A big part of Mia's performance rests on her ability to play anywhere on the court at a high level. From helping run the offense to crushing attacks on the outside or opposite, Mia was all over the court, producing a high attack rate. Mia's one of the better 15s I've watched this club season, and her ability to play multiple positions will make her a hot commodity to college coaches.

Cora Singer – Middle

Another player who caught my eye was Cora, with her vicious jump serve and big blast in the middle. Cora's another PAO player already playing at a high level for a 2028 athlete. She has a quickness about being able to close to the pins and set up a big block. The best part I noticed is her ability to exploit the defense and serve teams off the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='756809' first='Avery' last='Buckley'] – Setter

Avery is a fireball on the court. She is a fantastic setter who could run a 5-1 if the team needs her to. She has great hands, is quick as lightning, and has excellent accuracy in pushing the ball to the pins. She runs a nice tempo offense. Avery was the best setter in the field and would be a top libero if that was her position. Watching her fly all over the court making big-time plays is fun. Avery's getting excellent training and will head to IWA in the fall to complete playing time for the powerhouse program.

Ryan Briscoe – Outside

This team is nicely stacked with some big-time players at every position, and Ryan does a ton of damage on the outside. She is a very composed and innovative player with enough power to overtake her opponents, but she can also pass and play defense at a high level. Ryan hits a heavy ball and is a program changer when she returns to Troy next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='756742' first='Abby' last='Buckley'] – Libero

Abby is all about passing dimes and playing incredible defense. The kid can flat-out play defense and understands the role of the libero position. I was so incredibly impressed with her play over the weekend. She is quick, reads well, and has a swift first step to chase down any ball. Diving saves, makes perfect passes, and puts up a hittable ball when taking the second touch.

Laila Shelton – Opposite

The southpaw opposite is another piece of the puzzle that fits so well. Laila is a competitor! Laila will be a big-time start, from her mean jump serve to wicked smashes on the right side. Laila already has some big-time power in her swing and one of the better serves in the tournament. She's going to be deadly for the Wolves at Timberland.

Alli Sturch – Opposite/Outside

Alli can fill a couple of roles for PAO, as she can hit with power on either side of the net and has some of the best celebrations I've seen this season. She is a fireball and a massive team player, willing to do whatever to help her team. Her development over the club season will push her into a varsity player next year at Fort Zumwalt East.

Ella Sansone and Madison Welch – DS and Middle

Ella comes in and does a great job of being a defensive playmaker who does a great job of passing and playing defense. Madison plays the other middle position and is a big contributor out of the middle. I didn't get to watch these two as much as I did the other players, but what I did see is that they both will develop into great players in the 2028 class. We need to get some highlights online so they can showcase their talents more.
