Now that the schedule is released, I will head to Steel Shed in O'Fallon, Illinois, to watch some 2027s play in the Donna Mayer Bid Event. Here are three setters and liberos I'm excited to see play again.

Sophia Seda – Setter – [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 16 Carolina

Sophia travels a long way to play club volleyball for RT Carolina, and her improvement during club season is well worth it. A high volleyball IQ setter with solid height at 5'8”, she runs a 5-1 for RT Carolina. She puts the ball in a great location for her hitters and is very clever when calling her number to score. Sophia has many aspects of her game that would fit well at the next level.

Alyson Paule – Setter – FC United 16 Black

Helping run the 6-2 for FC United, Alyson gets to feed the team's big gun out of the middle for two rotations. She has excellent chemistry with her middles and plays solid defensively. Alyson is usually the first player to serve, and with a great jump float, she gives FC a quick edge to start a match.

Hannah Schilly – Setter – [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 16 White

I watched Hannah play her freshman year at Crystal City and said then that if she could find a club team to set for, she would become one of the best players at Crystal City High School. She does a lot of everything for her high school team. She helps run the show for the RT 16 White and does a fantastic job. She is a quick setter with great hands and a top-notch defender at right back. I am excited to see what she does at Steel Shed.

[player_tooltip player_id='544916' first='Reese' last='Rogers'] – Libero – [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 16 White

A great serve, ace, and then the fist pump. Reese is an outstanding libero who understands her role and goes 100% to keep her team battling. She has excellent movement on the court, covers a ton, and reads the hitters extremely well. Reese has everything you want in a top libero, and coming from a volleyball hotbed like Eureka, you know she's had great coaching.

Candice G'Sell – Libero – [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 16 Carolina

There's slowly becoming a trend in Hillsboro to produce some quality players, and Candice might be one of the better ones. Getting the experience of playing for RT 16 Carolina is helping her become a better player. The starting libero has a great platform, passes are on point, and the diving saves are textbook.

Lexi Happel – Libero – 314 VBC 16 Red

I watched Lexi play last month and remember some of the big saves she made during some of the matches. She will stand in, get beaten by her opponents, and come up smiling—a tough libero with a ton of promise in her game. Lexi not only helps save points, she also scores them with a terrific jump serve.
