Volleypalooza was awesome! Most brackets finish on time or even ahead of schedule. We saw plenty of exciting sets throughout the tournament. Lots of teams playing up to prepare for regionals, several 3rd set thrillers and teams fighting to finish the regular season on a high note. Let's look at just a handful of players who had themselves a day!

Charge South 17-1 #5 OH, Kelsey Foster. She is a hitting threat from all over the court. She may have scored just as many kills from the back row as she did the front row. She came up clutch in multiple sets when they needed a kill the most. Her final back row swing is what caused the chaos on the other side that led to the championship falling. Keep an eye out this high school season for her making a name for herself!

Elevate 16.2 #23 DS, Lillie Stubbings. If you haven't seen this serve then you are missing out. This thing hums across the net and causes all sorts of issues. She sparked multiple scoring runs via ace or forcing out of system attacks from the opponents. She helped them punch their ticket into the gold bracket this past weekend.

Charge Tulsa 16 National #23 OH, Brooklyn Wallace. Brooklyn has the frame and power to be a solid hitter. I was able to watch her get a hold of a couple balls and get a timely kill for her team. Her team was able to waltz their way through pool play and the first round of the gold bracket. They beat a scrappy Elevate 15.1 25-21 25-22 team who was hoping to pull the upset. They battled hard but fell short in the championship to Charge Tulsa 15UA.

Charge Stillwater 17-1 #17 Libero, [player_tooltip player_id='532719' first='Georgia' last='Story']. Georgia was a workhorse! She was flying around while digging and being a spark plug for her team on every single player I got to watch this weekend. She did a good job of creating good angles with her platform and keeping it simple with her movements. She has some real potential, can't wait to see her development down the road.

Virago 16-1 #18 Setter, [player_tooltip player_id='734999' first='Makenna' last='Layton']. Kenna provided lots of offense this past weekend. She loves to go for the high line shot and off speed to the middle. She did a great job of mixing in dumps while she was setting. Speaking of setting, she was making great decisions of who to go to and when. I was also a fan of her pivot sets when the pass brought her off the net. Lastly, her serve was very accurate, multiple timely aces to spark the offense.

Charge South 17-1 #1 MB, [player_tooltip player_id='734727' first='Brinley' last='Abbott']. Brinley has been impressive each time I have gotten to see her and her team play. She is available often and they run a well balanced offense that allows her plenty of touches. Her and Cox do a great job, which really allows Foster to play well on the pin. She runs a solid up tempo set but also mixes in a soft touch tip to throw off defenders.
