Smaller tournaments give us scouts time to see all of the talent at a tournament. Sometimes with the bigger venues, I feel like I don't even get to half of the courts. The smaller tournaments also give us a chance to see some talent that we don't normally get to see. JAG's Clash at the Cliff was a fun tournament to do just that - check out some new(er) talent that I have not seen before…and they were quite impressive. Below are a few of the rising stars that I found competing on the courts in Wisconsin Dells and Reedsburg!

Harrington is a tall, young, athletic player that helped generate momentum for her team by taking big swings from all over the court. Playing up an age level on 16s, this 2028 6 rotation outside was lethal from both the pins and back court and was solid on serve receive. Harrington is one to keep tabs on as she continues to grow and elevate her game.

I love watching setters and immediately was captivated with Inda. She was by far one of the standout setters of the tournament. Running a 5-1 offense, I thought Inda did an excellent job running the court, pushing the ball to the pin, feeding the hot hand, and getting all of her hitters included in the offense. I was even more impressed once I found out this girl is only a class of 2028! The sky is the limit for this floor general. I will be sure to be checking back in on her as this setter is one that I have to see again.

Elsner is a naturally gifted athlete. This girl showcased some major hops and smooth, fluid movements as one of the more impressive middles at the tournament. “Speed” also seems to be the name of the game with her. This girl has a quick reaction, fast feet, has a lightening fast arm swing, and can keep up with some of the fastest tempo sets. While I am sure she works hard at her craft, she makes it appear as if it comes to her naturally and with so much ease. Impressive, Elsner, very impressive.

Davis is another super athletic player. Playing as a 6 rotation outside, Davis did a solid job transitioning out, exploding to the pin, and taking big swings on the ball. She also knows when finesse or placement is more appropriate and was able to lay down some highly effective tips and pushes to the deep corner to score points. Davis also has quick movements and a good read on the ball, making her a highly effective blocker and defender.

Tatum was a beast on the court this weekend. This dominate hitter took command of the court and put down strong, powerful swings all over the court, including the backcourt. While her hitting was super impressive, her defense was equally as good. Inda was a highly effective blocker that has a good read on the ball and has a huge reach. She stopped many opponents in their tracks on Saturday. Inda is going to be one to keep tabs on as I have a feeling she is just getting started in the volleyball world.

Paider is a 6 rotation outside hitter with a ton of potential. The clear go-to attacker on her team, she could be seen taking huge, electric swings from all over the court. Paider also demonstrated high efficiency in her pass and serve game. While she showcased some great skills on the day, what I liked most about Paider is that she is calm and cool on the court. She doesn't appear to get easily rattled in tense movements but rather remains focused as a true leader on the court.
