PD Madness in Miltown: 2029 Show Stoppers!

Volleyball is one of the fastest growing women's sports. Girls are starting to develop their skills at younger and younger ages and it is paying off. Some of these young players are leaps and bounds ahead of their peers. I made sure to stop by some of the younger courts to take in the high level talent as well as recognize those athletes that are playing up age divisions due to their advanced skills. Morse was swinging from the pin and out of the middle while playing with the Xtreme 14u and 15u team this past weekend. I was most impressed with the fact that as a young player, she can pass, transition out, and take a big swing from the pin, terminating repeatedly. Morse also was solid on defense. She dug some great balls and made numerous saves in the backcourt.     Converse is a 6'0” opposite that is already turning heads. I have seen her play a few times already this year and each and every time I am amazed that she is only a class of 2029, 14 year old. Playing up a year on the SMV 15's, Converse is a major contributor in every way on the court. She puts up a big block and has a great swing. Converse is going places and I am going keeping tabs every step of the way.     I was going to highlight Braund in my setter's article but then discovered she is only a 2029! Setters with her skill level at a young age are hard to find. Braun's is a young setter with a ton of potential. She delivers a clean consistent ball to her pins, doesn't get rattled in tense moments, and plays stellar right back defense.     Walter is a up and coming setter and right side. I watched her this past weekend and was amazed with the level of her skills at such a young age and how poised she remained in games. Walter did a good job getting her feet to the ball and her hips squared to deliver balls to her outsides and middles. Walter also has solid footwork with attacking and will take big swings from the pins.     [player_tooltip player_id='768575' first='Myla' last='Habelman'] is a middle on the rise. She did a good job this past weekend reading the opposing teams setter, reacting, and using her speed and strong footwork to put up a solid block across the net. Habelman also has a strong arm. She was able to successful connect with many sets to deliver hard kills to generate points for her team as they battled in the gold bracket.
