2025 HS Preview: Norman and OCS

New head coach, Alexis Brendemihl, got them 14 more wins than the previous season. They did some amazing things and things that haven't been done in a very long time in Norman. Things like beat cross town rival Norman North, beat Edmond Santa Fe not once but TWICE, and outright win the Carl Albert tournament behind wins like 5A #7 Carl Albert, 4A #14 Crossings Christian, 5A #10 Coweta and 5A #3 Claremore in the championship. This is a team that is going to make HUGE waves this upcoming season. They have one of the best group of seniors in the whole state. <strong>Prediction: </strong>Norman gets roughly 25 wins behind their potent offense, wins the regional championship, punches their ticket to state and wins the first round in big time fashion.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Players:</strong> Where do I begin or even end with the talent on this team. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='297088' first='Valyn' last='Donahoo'], [player_tooltip player_id='748795' first='Elle' last='Mohrmann'], [player_tooltip player_id='752553' first='Izabella' last='Holasek'], [player_tooltip player_id='337179' first='Camryn' last='Burress'], [player_tooltip player_id='297110' first='Zoe' last='Young'], [player_tooltip player_id='511388' first='Georgia' last='Caddell'], [player_tooltip player_id='750955' first='Ella' last='Kate Starke'], [player_tooltip player_id='748793' first='Mia' last='Moore'], [player_tooltip player_id='748675' first='Olivia' last='Carter'], and [player_tooltip player_id='603787' first='Caroline' last='Soto'] are all real options as a starter or quality bakcup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>OCS:</strong> They went 25-12 and ended as a top four team in the state. They only had two seniors on the roster for the state tournament, meaning this crew is loaded up to make a run again in 2025. This team sputtered a little out the gate but mid season they found their groove and went on a tear. They ended by winning 14 out of 17 of their final matches before losing to the eventual state champs, MSM. Out of those 14 wins, 11 were ranked opponents. The amount of talent mixed with experience is something that could be special for them. If the setting catches up to their hitting and defensive capabilities, they could have a real chance at winning the whole thing. <strong>Prediction: </strong>OCS will snag a couple more wins and gain in on 30 total, while also making their way back to the state tournament and ultimately winning another quarterfinal match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Players:</strong> They have an extremely lethal senior class coming up. Not only that but a plethora of young talent last season that got quality reps under their belts.
