This program started in the rural south central part of the state trying to give closer opportunities. Director Josh Devore said the original plan was to name it Barren Adair Metcalfe Volleyball Club, but stuck to just BAMVC when other players from places such as Russell County joined the team.

17 Pink

This team packed a nice one-two punch with Barren County junior middle/outside hitter Ashley Ann Atkinson and Russell County sophomore setter/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='778285' first='Madelyn' last='Roy']. Glasgow sophomore all-around outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='778289' first='Jamesanna' last='Soto'] also brought all-around presence. Russell County senior middle/outside hitter Jaylee Roy also turned into a nice option.

Russell County had four players on the team. The other three were sophomore defensive specialist Maribelle Devore and sophomore right side hitter Piper Garmon. Rounding out the roster were two Adair County players in junior right side/middle blocker Anekah Albrektson and sophomore right side hitter Macy Mann along with Barren County junior defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='849202' first='Josey' last='Moore'].

Atkinson (pictured) is aiming toward a big senior season using her height to take advantage of angles. She has great timing on her blocks and makes crisp passes. She smacks balls to different parts of the court and sends overpasses to open parts of the court.

Roy may be one of the most underrated players in the 4th Region, if not the state. Roy consistently makes good decisions on the court. She executes tandems on her jump sets and can do the back set. Roy is also a sound passer for the Lakers.

Soto played a number of roles for the Scotties last season including libero. Soto is a pure passer constantly helping get Glasgow in rhythm. Soto does a good job aiming balls away from defenders in the air and on the ground. She can pound balls on one play then take things off them on the next play. Soto had 155 digs and 122 kills for Glasgow last fall.

When Glasgow made sound first touches, Norris did a good job setting up the hot hitters. Norris did a good job mixing up the sets. She is also a sound passer and server doing whatever she could to keep plays alive to help propel the Scotties to victory. Norris had 381 assists, 187 digs and 34 aces for Glasgow last fall.
