<p>These final two teams in the [program_tooltip program_id='510734' first='Lexington' last='United'] 17s group saw good representation this season. Both had a good combination of players with varsity experience and others with none, but learned some of the ropes from them.</p>

<p><strong>17 Black</strong></p>

<p>This team put together a respectable 28-18 season under head coach Leigh Nahra's guidance. The team placed second in three tournaments including the Presidents Day Grand Prix in the 17-18s Division out of 16 teams.</p>

<p>East Jessamine and Sayre both saw a pair of junior contributors from the fall continue to fine-tune their crafts on this team. Defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='778433' first='Kaitlyn' last='Cadle'] and setter Mylie Young represented the Jaguars with outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='533377' first='Eli' last='Powell'] and defensive specialist Phoebe Barlow representing the Spartans. Junior outside hitter Jayda Davis also plays at Sayre.</p>

<p>Two Dunbar juniors grazed the roster in junior middle hitter Abby Young and junior setter Kaylin Davis. Junior defensive specialist Haley Rhodus from Frederick Douglass rounded out the roster.</p>

<p><strong>77 Black</strong></p>

<p>This team led by head coach Jessica Florence had some struggles this season, but saw a number of players grow.</p>

<p>Lexington Christian junior [player_tooltip player_id='778442' first='Sarah' last='Biliter'] and East Jessamine Katelynn McAlpin set things up as defensive specialists along with McKenzie Pitts. Lexington Christian junior [player_tooltip player_id='778438' first='Madeline' last='Eubank'], Grant County junior Kylee Ryan along with Dunbar junior Carley Biddulph and Lexington Catholic junior Emma Stanley did some setting. Gabbi Brock rounded out the roster at outside hitter.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Powell is trying to turn into a sound all-around player for the Spatans. Powell contributes in almost every statistical category. Powell makes good passes and sets up the hitters well for success, mixing in setter dumps to catch defenses off-guard. Powell hits the ball hard from all six spots on the court. She executes the pipe play well. Powell makes good in-air adjustments sending soft shoves to different parts of the court including the near and far corners. Powell had 181 kills, 273 assists, 234 digs and 72 aces in the fall, helping Sayre go 28-8 on the season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Cadle is trying to do her part to help change the culture at East Jessamine. Cadle does a good job not only sliding or getting an arm on balls, but staying under control. Cadle is dependable on her first touches. She does a good job anticipating where balls are going and letting her instincts kick in. Cadle had 304 digs for the Jaguars this past fall.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Eubank is trying to turn into a sound all-around player for the Eagles. Eubank consistently sets up hitters for success. Eubank does a good job hustling and sliding on defense to keep plays alive and is a sound server. Eubank can turn into a solid defender with improved ball control. Eubank had 411 assists, 174 digs and 38 aces last fall, helping the Eagles go 15-12 on the season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Biliter does a great job staying composed and under control with a barrage of balls coming her way on a regular basis. Biliter squares her arms up to balls to consistently make two to three-point passes. Biliter had 341 digs helping the Eagles go 15-12 last fall.</p>
