It may only be June but high school programs are beginning their summer leagues and preparing for team camps. Let's take a look at who we think will be 6-10 in class 6A this upcoming season. For context, A few assumptions: There is no shift in teams that we don't already know about, there are no transfers that we don't already know about and that we keep the same playoff format. Also, these are just our guesses on how the season pans out. We will happily be proven wrong or proven right depending on how your season pans out.

June 5th is the last day to use Sooner50 to get 50% off a subscription. The full year works great for upcoming seniors because it fully encompasses the school season AND club season.

10- Bixby

Bixby went 8-24 last season but I anticipate them getting more than that. They will take a hit with Ashley Nielsen and [player_tooltip player_id='550072' first='Mallory' last='Sommer'] graduating but they have a solid upcoming senior class. They also have a very talented young group coming up. They have a ton of talent at setter and across the front row. [player_tooltip player_id='742721' first='Caroline' last='Bergeret'] and [player_tooltip player_id='286289' first='Rylie' last='Steward'] are top notch setters and will give the hitters plenty of chances. [player_tooltip player_id='739288' first='Emma' last='Wilson'], [player_tooltip player_id='752828' first='Maci' last='McClure'], [player_tooltip player_id='746424' first='Luka' last='Toon'], and [player_tooltip player_id='741365' first='Laila' last='Jackson'] had a ton of growth over the past year and will be equiped to help get this program back on track. Look for Madsion Mosley to possibly take over at DS and give the Spartans a solid backrow presence. I think with the mix of talented upperclassed and skilled underclassmen they make one of the biggest jumps of any team from last season to this season.

9- Mustang

Mustang went 24-13 last season. Head Coach Blake Newman has done a great job since taking over the program. [player_tooltip player_id='478593' first='Reagan' last='Glenn'] has had an absolutely great club season and will be a cornerstone for this team's defense. I was impressed when I got to scout [player_tooltip player_id='740042' first='Ryan' last='McIntyre'] and [player_tooltip player_id='746975' first='Prasiah' last='Hunt']. Both look to be an even bigger part of the offense. Coach Newman and company will find a way to stay top 10 and get back into contention for a spot at state. They were just 3 points away from beating Edmond Santa Fe in the 5th set and they would have been at state this past season.

8- Westmoore

Westmoore did some huge things this past season. They might have made the biggest waves of any team last season. They went 19-16 amongst a really tough schedule and even picked up some wins like Edmond Santa Fe in 5, one of the best 5A teams in OCS, and Mustang multiple times. The cherry on top was the regional tournament where they won, not one BUT TWO 5 set thrillers to punch their ticket to the state tournament. This was super impressive since they were on the road against the host team, Bartlesville and also a very underrated Bixby squad. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='447769' first='Morgan' last='Cross'], [player_tooltip player_id='301380' first='Olivia' last='Branum'], [player_tooltip player_id='750957' first='Sadie' last='Arnold'], [player_tooltip player_id='752602' first='Sadie' last='Scarberry'], [player_tooltip player_id='734850' first='Naomi' last='Perkins'], and multiple others are the reason this program has risen from the ashes and EARNED their spot up top. Look for them to make the state tournament again this season AND they have the weapons to win once they get there.

7- Norman

Norman is my darkhorse this season. New head coach Alexis Brendemihl and the outgoing senior class got this program all the way to 19 wins. The upcoming senior class such as [player_tooltip player_id='297088' first='Valyn' last='Donahoo'], [player_tooltip player_id='748795' first='Elle' last='Mohrmann'], and [player_tooltip player_id='603787' first='Caroline' last='Soto'] will pick up the torch and not skip a beat. The uber talented underclassmen is something that will keep this machine running for years to come. [player_tooltip player_id='748675' first='Olivia' last='Carter'] and [player_tooltip player_id='752553' first='Izabella' last='Holasek'] are absolute dogs up front for the Tigers. If you have this team on the schedule, circle it, and get ready for a battle! I think the belief in themselves that became apparent last season mixed with a load of talent will get a hungry crew all the way to the state tournament.

6- Edmond North

This team went 22-16 with Faith Avalos at the helm. This is a perennial powerhouse program that is almost a cinch for state each season. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Losing Keely Lake and [player_tooltip player_id='212421' first='Sydney' last='Dunkleberger'] will hurt to lose but they have a plethora of young players who got meaningful court time. [player_tooltip player_id='752830' first='Kate' last='Starr'] and [player_tooltip player_id='752535' first='Olivia' last='Bartel'] are both studs for their club teams at Peak and will continue that trend in school ball. Also watch for [player_tooltip player_id='752601' first='Reese' last='Noller'], [player_tooltip player_id='752600' first='Gracie' last='Krause'] and [player_tooltip player_id='778115' first='Addyson' last='Ricketts']. They could be just the type of players to have a breakout season and get North to that next match at state.

Good luck to all the high school programs and players out there as we start up another amazing season here in Oklahoma.
